Well it was bound to happen sooner or later but I think on Saturday KJ dropped a proper clanger for the first time this season and got his selection very wrong.
Whether it was a determination to get Goldbourne and Evans into the team or if he had some special plan for Swindon I don’t know but we were very lucky to get three points.
Ratings:
Jackett 4. Dodged a bullet by getting the three points but poor selection and far too narrow.
Ikeme 8: MOTM, kept us in it.
Doherty 7: Is looking to be a very solid defender at this level and poses a problem going forward.
Batth 7: For a guy of his age to holding the hand of and guiding a player of Rickett’s experience is remarkable.
Ricketts 5: Made Stearman look like a rock.
Goldbourne 6: Not as good a leftback as Ricketts.
Davis 5: The sort of performance we saw last season that convinced me that he was a poor man’s Henry. Very disappointing after his start to the season.
Sako 6: Where was he supposed to be playing?
Evans 6: A bright young player but shoehorning him into the team gave us a very unbalanced appearance and affected his performance.
McDonald 7: Not up to his usual standard but still pick of the midfield.
Doyle 8: Can’t play as part of a front two and must start weighing in with goals to keep his place
Griffiths 7: made Doyle’s goal but very quiet second half.
Ismail 5: Someone had to remind me in the pub after the match that he’d come on.
Foley 7: Steadying influence and took his goal well.
Sig 7: Another assist! Rapidly gaining a super-sub tag.
Mason was fantastic for them, I’d imagine he has a big future ahead of him.
Jackett gets it wrong!

Oh and I think the technical term is "sticks" rather than "clubs".

Golf rackets. It IS a stupid game. That said, I woke up this morning another year closer to the sixty and seventy year olds it is designed for and felt one year closer to wanting to play it. Then I remembered I don't need a stick to walk and golf isn't a real sport and arranged a game of five a side for Wednesday.

I'm well into your prime golfing age Ulf but as I have no desire to be a social climber and possess both a spine and a chin you wont see me arsé-licking down the local golf club.
