Sakho

Just a few things from last nights game that worried me.
1. He seemed very quick to dive in and go to ground to make the tackle.
2. Whilst he is tall and wins headers, he would sometimes head the ball intro dangerous positions.
3. He looked a bit uncomfortable with the ball at his feet.

So what I Want to know is, is he always like that or is it lack of match fitness? I'm not judging him, just a few observations that maybe others can answer.

That 2nd goal wasnt just sakhos fault, skrtel failed to tuck into he middle

It was up to skrtel i felt to show his experience and vocal support,he failed.
Good game against united but reverted back to the form that got him benched last year, time to move him on in january.

Great debate about this.

Point1: I'm certain that he went to ground and completely missed the man and the ball in the first 1/2. However I was tense all the way through so maybe it wasn't him.

Point 2: yes he won headers but IMO where he was placing the headers were sometimes dangerous. (Btw I'm glad we now have someone who can dominate in the air)

Point 3: I have just watched a highlight video of him last night. I can say watching it again he does look good on the ball. However he nearly gave me a heart attack when he was trying to play from the back and 2 Swansea attackers were all over him. Fair play he was successful in getting the ball out. Still very nervy though.

He was bound to a be a little jittery with it being his debut. I think he did ok. And he used the ball pretty well, except when he almost got caught out by Michu late in the game. He recovered and made a very good tackle though.

Sakho is a natural athlete and has developed his passing over the last 2 seasons.
His confidence stems from his comfort and knowledge he can outrun (pace and strength) most people he is up against when he is fully fit.
He does not usually dive in to tackles and i think it has to do more with not being fully fit and wanted to win the ball early before it came to a sprint.

What surpises me has more to do with people not knowing him.
His value is about right and 2 seasons ago he was linked with 25-30 mil moves to real madrid and ac milan. He then stopped playing and picked up an injury or two and as such his stock fell.
Big clubs being linked increases values.
Between 11-16 us about right for a young centre back with great raw potential.

I agree with everything you say there but he does in fact dive in. Always has down. He usually wins the ball though, so no issue for me.

I think he looked better than Skrtel who's always in the wrong place.....

He did a lovely little trick to get away from a Swansea attacker, sort back heel flicky thing, did give me a worry but he is very comfy on the ball.

Did dive in a few times but was probably pretty pumped up for the game. Over all happy with the way he played. Enrique makes me bang my head against a wall.

Johnson, Sakho, Agger, Cissoko

is a very quick and powerfull backline, can't wait to see that, very attacking.

Prefer Enrique. He has been defensively excellent lately. When he's confident, he's like a brick wall, he intercepts the ball, puts up his brick wall, stopping the defender even being able to tackle him, takes it past him and gets the ball moving again.
