I know that this might not go down well with all the ozil lovers on here and I myself am an ozil lover too but I genuinely think he was pretty poor today and arguably our worst midfielder.

Wilshere was making far more decisive forward runs taking some of Marseille's midfielders out of the game and giving us a sight of goal.

Ozil however usually just took the easy option and was doing far too much sideways dribbling for my liking. Sideways dribbling is for less technically gifted players like flamini who then can just offload the ball but I really didn't expect this from ozil and I when we signed him i expected a player who would take chances and not just play the easy option all the time. Many players can do this such as joe allen or shelvey but these are second rate players.

If I'm honest i expected ozil to be how valbuena was today. Very busy and always playing at high intensity trying to make things happen. I really hope we didn't buy the wrong player
