Most people where I work ask me about the Haye vs Fury fight, hardly anyone new about Mayweather vs Canelo.

If you mentioned Mayweather to the average joe, they would just have a blank expression on their face, at best they might say, "didn't he fight Hatton.


Mayweather is hardly going to feature on a great fights show, he has never been in one

Just to put into perspective, Mayweather/Alvarez.Matthysse/Garcia card done $150 million, and GTA5 made over $1 billion dollars in 3 days.

In boxing terms there were much bigger fights historically.

i dont really think showtime were bothered if no one in the UK knew who mayweather vs alvarez were, their 9 stop tour was in the US and mexico not the UK, the 2.2 mill ppv buys proves alot of american fight fans are still at least bothered about boxing

Showtime are just happy then never made a loss again like the Guerrero fight.

And it is the Mexicans, or Americans of Mexican decent that bought up those PPVs.

BTW 2.2m is less than 1% of the American population.

Haye vs Fury may get around 2m PPV buys in the UK, and that one fifth of the population of the US.

yeah its also $70 for a ppv in america now which is what 45quid or so, you wouldnt break 1000 ppv buys over here if that was the price of the haye vs price ppv

Boxing didn't with PPV you know, it actually destroys the sport because the general public won't get to see their fights and bring new fans into boxing.

North Border - Any Froch fight in the UK deserves PPV. He is the best UK fighter by a mile.
