It may prove only that he is the biggest draw in BOXING PPV history, not boxing history.

18m people watched Big Daddy v Giant Haystacks in 1981. It was still ridiculous.

Pay per view means nothing. In the future I'm sure that total will be beaten and I'd guess the person that breaks it won't be as talented. FMJ's legacy shouldn't be about money. It will be but it shouldn't.

Shouldn't that be Mayweather and Alvarez, and Matthysse and Garcia break the PPV record.

Haven't accounted for inflation either

more spin and propaganda

More people watched it on stream than on PPV

Eastender got ten times that amount over 20 million once and that was PPV.

Thats the BBC for you

I watched it on a stream. Had a crappy boxnation stream at first. Bunce was doing my head in though so found a Showtime stream but that stopped right before the fight. Had to go back to Bunce and his crew

He may break it again if the Pacquiao fight comes off.

It will break it and make Mayweather by far his biggest pay day, but Floyd don't have the balls to take the fight

Just looking back over the top PPV and considering the time and availability, it would be difficult to argue against Mike Tyson being the biggest draw in boxing history. That's assuming you accept boxing history began with the PPV.......

people over the pond need there heads testing!! The reason its wasnt on PPV in the uk is because they new no one would pay a 20 quid one off payment to watch mayweather bore us all to death again! God can you imagine if ward and mayweather were in the same division and fought? I dont no about ringing a bell to start the fight, starting there chess clocks might be more apt!
Theres no question mayweather is one of the great tactical fighters but he wont be winning any awards for entertainment and that is the biz he is in at the end of the day!
I hope khan gets a shot at him next, he may not win but atleast he will force mayweather to fight!

khan wont force mayweather to fight. mayweather deliberately makes his fights go the distance imo, he'll just pick off khan round by round racking up the points. khan wont get near him as his punch accuracy is awful and his style of throwing a flurry of punches wont work as floyd will just keep weaving in and out and landing shots on him. floyd is too smart/defensive/risk averse to get into a tear up with anyone.

Well this side of the pond for some bizarre reason Haye V Fury and Froch V Groves are both on PPV. The Haye V Fury may generate some interest but not much however the Froch V Groves will do well to sell 5k.

Ill tell you this much kash, maybe not many people in the us will pay to watch froch v grooves but let me tell you it will 10 times the fight mayweathers was for a fraction of the cost! As for fury v haye im suprised you say that fight may get some interest as it is only a british domestic fight really!

people over in the US paid $65 and £75 for HD for Mayweather's fight against Canelo. That's comes to about £45.

Northtit hasn't got a clue. Still banging the drum that Khan beats Mayweather and Haye is feather fisted.

Also Hatton vs Mayweather holds the PPV record in the UK after Haye vs Klitschko. And people payed to see that at 4am. Imagine what the record would be if it was 10pm UK time.

In the UK, the Haye vs Fury fight is much bigger than Mayweather vs Canelo.

The average man on the street has no idea who Mayweather is.

Whatever Stevens did to make a usually calm character like GGG this angry, he will live to regret it. I had GGG winning in 6 before I saw this, I think it'll be over within 4 now.

If Haye can't beat this Fury guy,he should retire.

I agree with Vik,how can you mention Mayweather and Fury in the same sentence ,like i've just done ! !Dohhhh !
