has been mentioned quite a bit, but it has absolutely no relevance to this season`s match. The Spurs team of last season is almost unrecognisable to the team that will take the pitch tomorrow.
Team that started last season
Friedel
Walker
Gallas
Caulker
Verts
Huddlestone
Sandro
Lennon
Siggy
Dempsey
Defoe
More or less a reserve team, is it any wonder they were beaten. Four of the players are not even at the club now. Tomorrows team will be a completely different team and probably feature:
Lloris, Dawson (Kaboul), Chiriches, Rose, Eriksen, Dembele, Paulino, Soldado, Lamela, Chadli, Holtby, etc. A completely different XI.
Spurs have home advantage, so no need to go in fearing any team with their current form and massive squad of quality players.

Despite our good start, there still seems to be far too much negativity about the team. At what point do we stop keep going on about how good the opposition are in every game, and just concentrate on what a great team and squad we have now. Thankfully I reckon the team and AVB are a lot more positive.

I agree with you regarding home performances and with the squad you have now, there is no reason that you should not be expecting to win all your home games (I mean, you beat City, Arsenal, Liverpool and drew with United at home last season). Must confess that I am very worried about tomorrow's match the way we are playing at the moment and would take the draw now.

didn't you predict a comfortable Spurs win for that lineup in this fixture last season

Sandy, I agree and i see no reason to be negative tommorow. Infact I am as confident as I have been for ages facing Chelsea. We generally have quality all over now and our defensive record so far this season is outstanding. Before we have to rely on Bales brilliance but now we have a whole squad of excellent players hungry to get into the team.

On the way to the game last season I was sat at the train station, checked my phone to see team news to learn that Bale and Dembele were both out Bales missus giving birth to Alba Violet Bale
At that point I thought anything better than a defeat would be a bonus, CFC were flying at the time dropped just 2 points from 7 games....typically we got back in to the game and actually took the lead early second half only to collapse, 4-2
It's the hope that kills me. I would have preferred to have lost 2-0.

As an "honest" Chelsea fan, I definitely feel more trepidation going into tomorrow's game than I have for a while when we've gone to the Lane.
Spurs are definitely a stronger team than last season, and I think the loss of Bale, whilst at first glance looking bad, will ultimately make them a better team. No more reliance on a single player, and playing a style of football to suit.
With Chelsea's recent form being what it is, I think the best we can hope for is a draw tomorrow; perhaps a 2-2 or something. Whatever happens though, it should be a great game

Anyone who is overly confident about tomorrow needs their head shaking.
We've had a good start, have lost to the only good side we've faced, and beaten the rest.
Chelsea have had a decent start, have taken just 1pt from the two good sides they have faced, and beaten he rest.
We are just 2pts above them.
All of this over confidence just sets you up for a fall. It was the same v Arsenal. People getting too cocky.
It's not negative to entertain the idea that a side with Mourinho in charge, and players such Eto'o, Hazard, Oscar and Mata to call on among others, are a dangerous prospect.

Who's getting cocky though HRH? It's this attitude adopted is the reason why spurs have become so unsuccessful in recent years and we shouldn't be considering the size of our club. No one is saying we are guaranteed the win. We are saying we have every reason to be confident tommorow because 1. We currently are on better form than Chelsea 2. We are at home. I don't see how anyone is being cocky here and im almost certain the spurs players will go into the game tommorow almost certain they can and will win tommorow. It's this attitude that has made the likes of united so successful. They go into every home game expecting a win. Why can't we? Sorry mate but it's supporters like you that need your head shaking. I'm fully aware of Chelsea's quality but I am also aware that we to have a quality side. We are at home and we are in form. I see nothing wrong with being confident tommorow.

Don, it has no impact in our chances if I say we are going to win 50-0 or lose 50-0. Same as it had no impact at Old Trafford when you said we may as well just give them the points last season.
It wasn't actually aimed at you to be honest, it was for the juvenile OAP. We shouldn't worry about the opposition apparently. We didn't last season and got ripped a new one.
I expect us to put in a good performance tomorrow, but I don't expect us to win. I expect to beat Norwich, Hull, Palace, Swansea etc, but not Chelsea. We have a good chance of winning, but so do Chelsea. The draw probably an even better chance.
