I understand that there is divided opinion on here about him.
But given the hard facts that he scored about 20 in half a season last year, and with us currently goal shy, I think it's a no brainer.
I seen your comment LIW and respectfully disagree that BM should not sign him. At this level his record speaks for itself.
However given his wage demands I'm sure it's not a runner anyway.
Also for those who think GBH I mean GFH are not doing a good job, might this have something to do with the fact that Bates spend this years season ticket sales money last year.
I'm bracing myself for the onslought.
Go for it
BECCHIO YES PLEASE

Remember you are arguing with a fellow that starts a thread asking everyone to get behind McDermott then a short few hours later is passing comments that the manager might not be here next season...!
----------------------------------
I made that comment because I think the owners might not give him time. Not my view that he shouldn't be
Are you too stupid too realise that.
Nah your just a c u nt,

Eric ...Liw.I am not saying he is or was a fantastic footballer or that he is a long term answer for us.I was just saying we should have done everything we could to keep him untill a better player came along....It's not rocket science, that we are missing his goals. If a player came available just now and we were guarateed 19 goals by January from him,we would all be shouting snap him up and play him whether he can trap a football or not.

It wasn't selling becchio that was the mistake, it wasn't replacing him properly

I actually agree with you on that, but I would take any player that scores as regularly and who can annoy the Tourettes Kid...!

You replaced him with a better player then gave him away for a season

Becchio was forced out by Bates and Warnock.
Ross ain't exactly banging'em in either, yet some of you say he is our best player.
Becchio back at Leeds, yes please.

Shaun, no malice intended,
All strikers rely on service, that's why they're strikers and not defenders or midfielders.
Would you say same thing if he came here and scored 20 goals in 25 games?
KevT, ya hit nail on head.
Becchio's a striker and he scored lots of goals, does anyone really care how strikers score as long as they score.................a goal is a goal!!!

If we have to have Becchio back then fair enough - but have to say, it's not the sign of a club looking to the future.
End of the day if he scores regularly, then it's an improvement on what we have now. Right now if we go behind in a game we don't look like we have the ability to come back from it.
Having watched Becchio week in, week out i have to agree to an extent with Liw. He caused the breakdown of more attacks than he enhanced. That being said, he did have the knack of scoring - I'd have him back until Jan - but from Jan i'd expect us to start looking for someone more permanent and with pace/power.
