Tottenham fan in peace
Hello everybody. I know that not everybody watches the Italian league and neither do I to be fair. But from reports gervinho has been simply amazing. This does not really surprise me to be fair. He was amazing in france and whilst he was abysmal at arsenal he would go away on international duty and put in some stellar performances.
My question to all of u's is do you know any other very good players to come to a team and simply not play to their full capabilities.
The standouts for me are kaka for Madrid and boateng for us, who went on to become a world class player for Milan ( although this was due to us not giving him a fair chance).
There are many other players to start off abysmally and to change it around bale and modric and even rvp to some extent with him having a highest league goal haul of 11 in his first 6 seasons mainly due to injury and it was not til his 7th and 8th season's where he became footballer we all knew he could be amassing 18 and 30 goals respectively ( which to be fair annoys me because the arsenal management spent a lot of money on wages and helping him recover from injurys all for him to throw it in their faces and not even sign a 1 year contract extension to allow arsenal to get a fair transfer fee aswell as joining a rival and not one of the many other interested clubs but that's an argument for another day)
Anyway what players do you know of who have struggled to show their full capabilities for a club
quality players that have not fit in

To early to call players this season, especially new players. As for Gervinho, the man was a catalogue of errors - terrible touch, poor shot, and mindless dribbling. That miss at Bradford sums it all up, and I can remember two occasions when he dribbled the ball out of play under absolutely no pressure at all. He worked pretty hard and normally tracked back, but he was simply awful as a footballer.

gerv - has scored 3 already at Roma, plus they are top of the league! Just wasn't right for us!

Gervinho has some qualities but he doesn't have a football brain. Never made the right decision. Having said that, if only Walcott could pass players the same way Gervinho does, he would be a fecckin lethal weapon

Sometimes it didnt work for a player in one team. That happen for Chamakh as well.

After all said and done, he was our best dribbler, The way he passes players with speed is what we all expected Theo to be. Yes but He Gervinho fall to keep his place after so many chances.

Just proves how easy Seria A is. No wounder Lemela score a few last season.

Gervinho started off really well for us in case you are all forgetting. I initially thought we should have kept him simply for squad depth but would he have scored Gnabry's goal on Saturday? Not a hope.

Anti_Stan_KRONK_EE ***** Kings of North Lon.
This season for me it's Soldado at Tottenham. Has been well short of matching the eye watering £28M figure that was paid for him.

Trust one of you to spoil the post & debate
Soldado is a good player, whether he becomes a great player for us who knows. However you cannot judge a player after only half a dozen games, it is even more ridiculous when you consider the fact those players around him are also new! Think before you post.................................................

But isn't that exactly what this article is doing? Calling Gervinho a success after a handful of games at Roma is the same as calling Soldado crap after the same amount for Spurs...
Don't be all upset that someone doesn't rate one of your players. It happens.

Hmmmm...........nothing to do with the fact he is an Arsenal supporter then?
