After watching, albeit only the highlights on MOD2 last night, it seems the team crumbled in a 10 minute spell, I know it was only highlights, but from what I could see Spurs squandered a few chances, Defoe being the main cuplrit. The goals were all preventable and show that despite a lot of clean sheets this season, the defence is still the same shakey shambles as last season, and it may be a blessing in disguise tht AVB will now have to finally act, and once and for all get it sorted. At least two of the defence should not be anywhere near the first XI. If Kaboul is not going to make it this season, then a new defender is absolutely essential. I think most of us suporters had him down to be starting as a regular, and it must be patently obvious we have another Ledley King on our hands.
You also have to ask yourself, why is Sandro not playing? No Parker this season, so it is essential that with Capoue out injured, another of similar type needs to be playing, and that should be Sandro. And why spend £110 million, when Soldado, Lamela, Chiriches, Chadli are all sitting on the bench, does not make sense to me.
AVB should have learnt some serious lessons from yesterdays match, and I would expect a much changed team for the Villa game in two weeks time, at least it gives a chance for players to have a serious look at themselves, and also to get one or two of the crocks back on board.
All in all a very, very poor result, but not particulary unexpected, after all this is Spurs we are talking about, always capable of throwing in one or two shockers in a season. But they have to move on and not let the previous good work already done this season go to waste.
I look forward to a more vibrant and much improved performance against the Villa in two weeks time.
Right the day after the night before

sandy,
I'd prefer to drop the CB who has been the poorer, which would be Vertonghen.
But dont listen to anything i say, afterall; you did see 5 minutes highlights of the game - whilst i saw the full 90.

At least he's being cleverer today and not blowing his cover by referring to Spurs as "them" and "they" like he was caught doing the other week.
