Here is the review for the Fifa ‘French Tournament’ I hope you enjoy it!
Starting off in the first of two groups is Group A consisting of four players in champion Junior, JAG, Choice and Tyke. Junior with a strong team in ST Etienne was expected to progress out of this group with a degree of comfort and beating Choice 3 – 1 suggested he would do that. However a shock was sprung when JAG with Valenciennes beat Junior 2 – 1 to breathe life into JAG’s chances of progression, but leave Junior’s on a knife edge. That knife edge would come in the shape of Tyke who had Evian Thonon. A strong defensive performance saw Tyke go 2 – 0 up whilst Junior pulled one back, however the defense survived a few scares and a shock 4 – 1 result was recorded. Coupled with JAG beating Choice 4 – 2 Junior, the champion was out in the group stages, making him the first champion to exit at this stage. Tyke also dispatched of Choice 2 – 0 who would take this group’s wooden spoon accolade with Junior finishing third. A cagey 0 – 0 was fought out between JAG and Tyke with progression both secured for them with the former finishing second and the latter in first.
The second and final group in this tournament was slightly bigger with five players in Oscar, May, Terry, Ludy, May and SpursBoy. The group pretty much went to form in terms of first place with SpursBoy really impressing with AC Ajaccio . His 4 – 0 victory against Terry’s Montpellier was the highlight, followed by a close 1 – 0 against Oscar’s Stade Rennais and progression all but sealed when he beat May’s AS Nancy 2 – 0. His only dropped points were against Ludy’s Marseille in a 0 – 0 draw, SpursBoy secured first place and a place in the semi-final. With Ludy being the only one to take something from SpursBoy you would be forgiven for thinking he would take second at least, but unfortunately for him it didn’t come. A 3 – 0 defeat against Oscar was not rectified by drawing 2 – 2 and 1 – 1 with May and Terry respectively. So a disappointing 4th place coupled with elimination beckoned for Ludy. Another player tipped to do well in Terry failed to make the grade. The mentioned thrashing by SpursBoy was equaled with another 4 – 0 loss to May, his only other point bar the Ludy one came in a 1 – 1 draw with Oscar. This group’s wooden spoon goes to Terry. So who would get second place Oscar or May? Neither was tipped for the next stages but it was May who took it with a cool 1 – 0 victory against Oscar. Good effort Oscar third place for you, May reaches the semi-final!

Brilliant review as always tyke, I think me beating ludy 3-2 and game counting for nothing threw me off a bit! Looking forward to the last tournament,
