Couple of interesting quotes from our gaffer on Erik Lamela:
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
'I think getting acquainted to the Premier League is important but he doesn't know the language,' said Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas in defence of his under-performing forward. Speaking to The Independent, AVB continued: 'Soldado had some knowledge of the language before so it was a little bit easier for him.
'With Erik it was a little bit more difficult. He knows he isn't producing half of what he can produce but he understands the situation now is that he has to compete for his place.'
Regardless of his substandard showings to date, AVB is confident the player can turn it around and has provided him the support necessary: 'We have given him massive, massive help and his family arrived this week.'-
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Encouraging stuff
I'm sure he'll turn out the player we all want him to be.
Start with a brace tomorrow, Erik

"I think our problem is that we're too predictable, at times narrow"
Spurs problem down to a tee.
AVB needs to change it soon...

Imagine a team without Townsend in it
Get Lamela on the wing tonight, tell him to be positive all night, every chance get at the full back, drop him inside, out, make him guess, don't let the first tackle be on him,
Even if he picks up a yellow, be the aggresor,

Sandro/Paulino
Townsend, Eriksen, Lennon
-----
That midfield has:
Power - Sandro
Composure - Paulinho
Pace - Townsend / Lennon
Skill/craft - Eriksen
But is your midfield lacking goals ?

I liked this interview about Lamela because it shows the boy is aware that he can play much better and finding it a little slow to adapt to the country. Within time this guy will be our best player no doubt about it.

Well at the moment the whole team is lacking goals.
Lennon will never score more than 5-7 goals a season and I doubt Sandro will score more than 3.
But the potential is there with Paulinho, Eriksen and Townsend

The last midfielder to score 10+ goals for us (not including Rafa) was Gazza, every season we've had midfielders score less that 9 or 8 league goals
Paulinho is on for double figures
And I'm talking CM not Bale (wide men)
