Hes a massive talent but I think next season is the season he'll play better... Keep the pressure off for now id say....
Give him a few cameo minutes here and there this season
good that his family is now here
AVBs excuses are already an indication of a man under immense pressure.
£100m expenditure must result in silverware.

Selling Bale (£86 million) plus other (£26million) means we're actually in profit

What excuses?
AVBs excuses are already an indication of a man under immense pressure.
1 - Fans are not vocal enough
2 - Lamela struggling to adapt
3 - Team not playing well enough but we're 3 points off top and in 4th place
No excuses, just fact!

well done metro
Lamela will be a massive player for us and I think he'll come good this season. There is a World Cup around the corner which he'll want to get to.
Now his family is here, he won't be by himself in some hotel with nobody to speak to after training.
Maybe that way he can really knuckle down and come up with the goods
Not every player comes good straight away, some take a season to adapt, Italian league is totally different, he's looked ok from what we;ve seen,
He needs a drop of Townsends passion and drive, I'd rather he goes at players and plays with no fear, I think we, as fans would appreciate him making the effort to take a full back on rather than cutting back inside and playing the easy pass to Walker, or Paulinho
Metro is a man of few words ..shame they are all bollox
I like AVB's fairness regarding players ...doesnt matter who they are, if they shine they get a chance and Lamela will be no different.
I also like that he says it how he sees it, I would rather that than just ambiguous generic statements
the beauty is that we don't need to rush him. we are picking up enough results and have enough other options that means we are not relying on him to come in and boss it straight away (as we were all fearing we would have to be at the start of the season)
that is thanks to a certain mr townsend.
Daily Mirror said we "forced him to play" following his injury
Bunch of caaants!
Not sure If I'm alone here but I really like Chadli every time he's played, just needs to get on the outside more of defenders, he has great tehnique
Thudd
He was clearly being pulled away but he counted and see we was down to 10 and didn't want to let the team down and ran on ignoring the fact he was told not to...
Townsend
I wasn't a fan of chadli but since he came back from injury he looks different... Not sure what's changed but something has..

Spot on Chronic
There are not many club that can spend 30m on a player without needing him to instantly grab the headlines.
Lamela will get enough chances in EL and Cup games and as long as he takes those opportunities he'll be playing regular Premier League football in no time
I wasn't a fan of chadli but since he came back from injury he looks different... Not sure what's changed but something has
Same Hengs, he's looked different, more confident and positive, I think like Lamela he wanted to be safe with the ball, and keep it!
Hope Lamela and Chadli start Weds with Eriksen and Defoe/Adey

Agree. Tall, strong inverted winger with great technique. He seems to have it in his locker to make the left wing position his as Lennon doesn't seem comfortable on the left. Siggy isn't a left winger in my book, although he did well playing there.
Definitely a chance for Chadli!
Didn't watch the live game on Sunday, so was unsure if Lennon was good or not, seemed to lose the ball,
Chronic
Capoue back in training this week also,
I always said Spurs will have a slow start but will pick it up a bit towards the end of the season.
The fact that they're up there points wise is worrying because they performances certainly dont warrant it.
Now all AVB needs to do is adjust his tactical system to suit the players thats on form and get some creativity from midfield and they'll be sorted
What is Spurs first/best choice midfield ?
Although does AVB sacrafice protecting his (imo) awful defence for some added freedom and creativity?
What is Spurs first/best choice midfield ?
On the first 5 games I'd had said
Capoue/Paulinho
Townsend, Dembele, Siggy
Now
Sandro/Paulino
Townsend, Eriksen, Lennon
But I think that's AVB's selection, I'd rather we play with 1 deep DM, and possibly try Eriksen and Holtby around him (him being Sandro) Townsend has to start, the left wing I'm totally unsure at the moment, I think our problem is that we're too predictable, at times narrow and if we didn't have Townsend in the team then we'd have no positive forward thinking player
Soldado is no Suarez, he's not gonna beat 2 or 3 players, he's a box player, needs the goal in and around the 18 yard box to score, he thrives off service,
Eriksen needs a bit of space in and around the 18-30 yard area, Holtby can be a creative deeper player linking with Eriksen,
Love Paulinho and Dempsey, but we need a plan B so to speak, when teams like Hull, West Ham defend deep and in numbers, with 10 behind the ball, spread the play, stretch them, play quick balls, turn the play, face a player and move them, make them chase the ball,
"I think our problem is that we're too predictable, at times narrow"
Spurs problem down to a tee.
AVB needs to change it soon...
