Yeah, but mine would be from a different angle. Can KJ emulate Mick, or should we sack him once back in the Champo in order to "move forward", as 95% of us would like to happen? That kind of thing... I'm on a boat right now so will have to consider posting it later...

It is quite possible that KJ will not take us to the next level after this one, the evidence of his career so far points that way.
But he is our manager and deserves solid backing from the fans until such time that it appears we are not moving forward anymore, just like every manager at every club on earth.

I was heading back to Bute on a ferry. Had spent the previous night at Himley.

Cinci - you may be right. Some will say we should have sacked Mick once he'd got the club promoted. (I don't agree with that, incidentally.) To those people I'd ask, "when should KJ get the chop?"

Maybe once 95% of fans realise he's no longer moving the club forward?

Of course I back him whilst we're maintaining our current promotion challenge!

To me a manager always has to be judged on whether they are meeting the targets set by the board and by the fans. The only target for Jackett this season is promotion and I said back in August that given the squad he has, his job would come into question if he didn't achieve that. But I think he will achieve it so its quite right then that he is then given the chance to achieve the next target.

I don't think getting promoted out of the Championship next season is a reasonable target. But as a club that wants to get back to the Premier League as soon as possible I do think he needs to be set the target of getting Wolves into the top 6 of the Championship in our second season back at that level. And I would expect his job to come under threat if he doesn't achieve that. And to show he is on the right track we certainly don't want to be a struggling team next season so I think he needs to get us to halfway at least to avoid losing some support.

That's an excellent post, DJ. As Cinci says, you have got it just about right.
