Let me begin by saying I don't like Jose, I don't like the way he behaves and I don't like the style of football his teams play, having said that, he is what we have, his appointment this time was inevitable a marriage of convenience if you like. His preferred choice of job was in Stretford and he clearly was not our first choice coach, but in the end he had nowhere else to go and we could not attract the right coach to take us forward, so management made a clever choice for them in bringing him back, it appeased all the fans who made a little mess in their pants at the mere mention of his name, so took all the pressure off them in a stroke.
In the beginning I believe he inherited a squad that pundits said would dominate football for the next ten years and as his power base grew within the club he systematically created situations where the "flair" players wanted to leave and molded a team in his way. To be fair he did win things in this way but at a cost we had only just come to terms with before he was brought back. Now any good work to bring in exciting players will be for nothing, I just hope he doesn't start buying players that have no right to pull on that shirt, I'll just mention the name Steve Sidwell?
The problems we have begin and end with the management of the club, I cannot understand how a club with the riches we have are where we are now, we have had some of the best coaches in the world but not the plums to stick with it. People who have said in the past that the club is Roman's plaything have a point on the face of it.
The players are not the problem because most if not all would walk into most top teams in the world, it always has been how we pick and use the squad we have.
I hope Jose can change his ways, don't think he can but we have to go with him he's all we have.
The Problems we have

You know the sad thing is most if not all the comments have been whether Jose wanted to go to Manchester of not, little wetness in the nether region Superb?
I think there is enough anecdotal evidence to speculate, and any words from Jose could have been made after it was clear to him he was not going to get the job. I don't know him personally but I bet comments made on here are from others who don't either.

Topdog please present us with any evidence whatsoever that Jose wanted the Utd job.
I await your response ........

There is absolutley no evidence, anecdotal or otherwise to suggest that JM wanted to go to OT

Blue, I don't think Chelsea or Arsenal to avoid allegations of bias are in the same bracket as Man Utd.
Superb, one thing Mourinho does not lack is self confidence. He took the Madrid job and they are at the same level so I would not see him shying away from the Man Utd job. Utd's spending or lack off did not stop them winning the league fairly easily and being 30 seconds away from winning it the season before.
The only evidence about the Man Utd job one way or the other that I have seen is from Bobby Charlton, who inferrred Mourinho was not for him.. I am not sure why it matters to any Chelsea fan whether he coveted the Man Utd job or not. Wenger did not grow up an Arsenal fan for example and I don't expect Mourinho had posters of Tommy Baldwin on his bedroom wall.

Gunner it doesn't actually matter to me one way or the other.
What matters to me is these people who seem to claim that there is loads of evidence to back up the claim that Jose wanted the Utd job.
As Chaz said above there is not a single shred of evidence (anecdotal or otherwise) to suggest that Jose wanted it.
I asked Topdog to produce any evidence at all that Jose wanted the Utd job and predictably I didn't hear back from him.

Just been having a quick look around the net and JM was hinting on a return to the Bridge as far back as March

Sorry I didn't reply immediately but my nose isn't stuck to this.
There was plenty of speculation at the time to provide doubt. What is clear is he was not the club's first choice, I offer Michael Laudrups words as evidence.
So despite whatever Jose said whenever he said it, the club didn't want him until he became the only reasonable option. Of course Jose has never played the stalking horse game now has he.

Topdog you stated (as if it was a fact) that Jose's preferred choice was Man Utd.
I asked you to provide any evidence to support your statement.
I'm still waiting .........

A leaked enquiry (and let's face it that's all it was an enquiry ) is hardly conclusive proof that JM wasn't first choice for Chelsea now is it? I'd imagine enquiry s and tabs are kept and made throughout the season. It's hardly like catching Prof Plumb in the Lounge with the blood stained lead pipe in his hand and a dead body at his feet is it.
