One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Personally I think he was a good man. The BOSS thought so as well otherwise they would have thrown him out of a window.

Speaking as a person, born and bread in the UK, I have to say that I am personally embarrassed by the stupidity of my fellow British people for criticising individuals, such as Mandela, that have been linked to terrorism.

I receive job applications from British people that can not spell, are clueless about their use of punctuation and are incapable of constructing a simple sentence in English. The word “their” is not the same as the word “there”. Yet in 2013 they complain about foreigners that are more intelligent than them taking their jobs.

Well, if they (Us British people) had bothered to study post war colonial counter insurgency and anti guerilla conflicts, where people fought for their freedom, then they would view Mandela in a more realistic and positive light.

Since 1945 the British government has been sending British soldiers to countries all over the globe to use military force to support political aims. In every single case the script is always the same.

The freedom fighters are labelled as terrorists.

The head of the terrorists is jailed by the British and sentenced to death.

The terrorists win against the British and gain independence.

The head of the terrorists is democratically voted head of his nation and invited to Buckingham Palace.

Menachem Begin, 6th Prime Minister of Israel, as head of the Irgun, he targeted the British in Palestine. Yitzhak Shamir, Israeli prime minister 1983–1984 and 1986–1992. leader of the Stern Gang. Both of them murdered British soldiers. I can name you a lot of others.

Not one of you has attempted to answer my question, just tried to fend it off with justifying the violence from the ANC. I have never tried to justify the SA government's position, I have consistently said that they were wrong.

So I'll ask once more, did the military wing of the ANC prolong the violent cycle? Could Mandela have ended the cycle 5 years earlier if he had renounced violence? It's ultimately what he did when he was eventually freed.

I'll say this again as well, just so we're clear, Nelson Mandela was a force for good for his country and the wider world in the end.
