Just how good is the young Costa Rican?
I've not seen too much of the lad, but what I have seen has been impressive.
What are your collective thoughts on his current form?
Is he a future replacement for Baines, or could you cash-in on Baines now and put Oviedo straight in?
Genuinely interested in the views of those that have seen far more of him.
Bryan Oviedo

Martinez mentions players becoming big assets and also not wanting the assets being devalued by transfers running down

Didn't read the link in the previous post, but did RM not say he was going to be sorting out new contracts for those who need them in Jan '14?

I was shocked at how bad Baines FK's had become...
The two at West Ham were terrible. A post here highlights how more balanced we are without Moyes. Baines seems to be underperforming, but he is just seeing a more equal share of the ball.

His free-kicks at West Ham are his only highlights of the season, even his corners have been poor. Don't get me wrong,I don't want Baines to leave,as I still think he's the best LB in the country, but I think Oviedo has done enough to keep his place. Baines will have to be patient and wait for Oviedo' form to drop.

I think Oviedo's form reflects well on RM as well.
If you recall last year when he came in for a few games, he was not looking good, but clearly the way RM plays suits him, and more than likely the way he coaches as well.

I agree to a point. But we are no longer reliant on our LHS to create going forward so it looks like his impact has dropped. It is still to a high standard

Coleman's been brilliant.

Only a fool would disagree. He has been the standout buy of the Moyes years for me. And he is up against some tough opposition.
