Hoolahan scored today on his EPL debut for Norwich. Anyone think he'd be in with a shout of getting a call up to the squad. He never seems to get a mention in terms of playing for Ireland, surely that will change if he can play well consistently in the EPL. Would be worth a shout for a squad place at least.
Shay Given was brilliant for Villa by the way, I don't understand why a bigger club didn't come in for him.
Wes Hoolahan for Ireland

Trap doesnt seem to rate him. He handed him his debut and then never called him up again. Shame.

Anybody reckon he gets called 'Hot Lips' at Norwich

He's been a great player in League 1 and the championship. Now if he can transfer that form into the premier league I'm sure he'll be picked.
You have to remember we had 7 CMs playing in the prem last year, so it's pretty competitive in that area, but having said that, I can see Gibson and Andrews fading out of the picture very fast!

Meyler will be coming back into the fold soon too.

Hoolahan is different than our other midfield options though isn't he? Without pretending to know too much about Norwich's style of play I believe he plays at the 'point' of a diamond formation. Trap is a much more conventional 4-4-2 manager (correctly I would say in international football) but a midfielder who is used to playing in a more advanced role would surely be a good option off the bench in a game you were chasing a goal in.

Godfather good to hear Meylers on the mend. Felt sorry for him. He was just after breaking into the Sunderland starting 11 and then went got injured.

Yeah and then he came back and got the exact same injury again. Hope it doesnt affect him when he returns because he had alot of potential.
