I never realised Wes was Irish!
I was talking about him today with a friend coincidentally, wondering how little mention he gets for his quality - he's been Norwich's best player, alongside Holt, for the past 2/3 years. Can't believe he never features for Ireland!
Yeah have followed his career since he ripped deportivo to shreds a few years back. He always had the talent but was missing something. He has improved hugely in the past few seasons and deserves international recognition!
Trap doesnt seem to rate him. He handed him his debut and then never called him up again. Shame.
Anybody reckon he gets called 'Hot Lips' at Norwich
He's been a great player in League 1 and the championship. Now if he can transfer that form into the premier league I'm sure he'll be picked.
You have to remember we had 7 CMs playing in the prem last year, so it's pretty competitive in that area, but having said that, I can see Gibson and Andrews fading out of the picture very fast!
Meyler will be coming back into the fold soon too.
Hoolahan is different than our other midfield options though isn't he? Without pretending to know too much about Norwich's style of play I believe he plays at the 'point' of a diamond formation. Trap is a much more conventional 4-4-2 manager (correctly I would say in international football) but a midfielder who is used to playing in a more advanced role would surely be a good option off the bench in a game you were chasing a goal in.
Godfather good to hear Meylers on the mend. Felt sorry for him. He was just after breaking into the Sunderland starting 11 and then went got injured.
Yeah and then he came back and got the exact same injury again. Hope it doesnt affect him when he returns because he had alot of potential.
