When is a loss a good loss?

Mr Hoyle still puts his money where his mouth is. Town have recorded a £4 million pound loss for 2012-13 and Mr Hoyle is happy with the progress, not on the field, but on how the books are being balanced.

However, I don't understand the significant increases to the wages bill, along with other costs, for gaining Championship status. I found this quite perplexing, taken from the Huddersfield Examiner. ...'The flipside of playing in the Championship was a big rise in football expenditure, up 61% from £8.09m to £13.05m, the figure including salaries for players and staff (£11.8m), agents’ fees, scouting, recruitment, travel, IT, analysis and medical costs.'

So, did all the players get an instant pay rise for gaining promotion? Did fuel rise faster than it takes to drive to Yeovil? Did Town pay more for their internet bill? Do doctors charge more consultancy fees when a player is treated from a higher league? WHAT A RIP OFF! No wonder Mr Hoyle is in no rush to strive for the Premiership, he'd be doubling his bail out costs keeping Town afloat!

I think he is doing a fine job, in a difficult financial period of time for all in the UK. Although, I bet he can't wait for the club to be able to stand on its own two feet. So, if Mr Hoyle is happy enough losing four million quid, then it suppose it is a good loss.
