Morata seems to be number 1 target

All the reports are suggesting we are after a short term loan deal rather than a permanent move for anyone

I have seen this guy a few times but for those that have seen him in action on a regular basis, what type of players is he and what are his strengths?

For a stop gap, would he be a better option than for example a berbatov?

He's nowhere near as bad as you think and I really don't understand what warrants the abuse!? His hold up play is exceptional, his passing decent. He's missed a couple of sitters but that was towards the latter part of his run where he clearly needed a rest but couldn't. Drogba had a worst record in France and England before he suddenly turned good. Bayern had Gomez and Giroud is much better then him imo.

A loan is such a bad idea. Whats the motivation for a player from Spain to make an effort to settle in let alone contribute when he knows he is going back?

Wenger has always treated loans as a long trial for the player. If Madrid are offering an option to buy at a fixed price, it maybe worth doing. Or I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.

Permanent deal is the way to go.

I take no one has seen enough of Morata to tell us what to expect, in the unlikely event that we manage to sign him?

I have in few appearances he has made for Madrid. He is a mixture of Llorente and Raul. He can hold the ball up because of his build which he uses very well and then also has quick feet and technical ability of Raul. Thats why Madrid have been so high on him. Which makes me think are they going to sell or loan to sell. He doesn't fit the glactico model which gives us some hope though Ancelotti has denied anyone will be leaving this window.

I don't hate giroud. He simply isn't good enough for us. He works his socks off and always gives 100% every game. Can't fault his application and attitude. Just his quality is sorely lacking.

Sorely lacking!? I can't see what you don't see. He does everything very, very well but isn't amazing at anything that doesn't mean he's not good enough for the team. He's clearly got talent, but it doesn't help with so called fans doubting his ability.

I suppose I got spoilt by the strikers we've had and what other top teams currently have. The fact that he does nothing amazing is telling. He ok but don't write home about him.

We can't sign an Henry every window and as long as the player gives 100% for the club I will support them. We all should.

Giroud does not have exceptional hold up play. I'm sorry. It is very inconsistent. People act like he's indomitable in the air and whatnot. But he has poor accuracy with his head for a so called expert.
That along with his lack of speed and mobility makes him a bad fit for us.

No not exceptional as you're correct he does misplace passes sometimes however he also delivers delicious through balls and quick short passes. Not too bad at crossing either. End of the day he does the role he's asked to do more effectively then anyone else can in the squad. He's part of a unit of skillful players that link up well with multiple goal threats. We now have a plan B, something we've been criticised for, for many years. Things are getting better and the superstars will come
