Nacer, Etienne and Lewis

Good morning gentlemen

So there were increasing rumours that these three players were pushing for a move or were subjects to bids. Now, I had a quick look around the web to get some more information about that.

Nacer Chadli decided to stay after his agent tried to engineer a move back to Holland

According to reports from Italy, Napoli made a bid for Capoue. That has been denied by their president

And then there is Holtby. Unfortunately, I didn't find anything denying that he's looking to move. I rate this guy. We bought him for 1.5m a year ago and he's only 23. I think he's an integral part of our team, seems like a well liked bloke in the dressing room and is loved by our fans, so there is absolutely no need to sell him. Especially not to Schalke as that would most likely spark a move from Draxler to Arsenal, since they bought Sidney Sam from Leverkusen to join them in the summer.

Personally, I wouldn't want to see any of them leave this transfer window but I couldn't blame them trying with the World Cup coming up.

I like Siggy but if players were to leave, he'd be one I wouldn't cry about. Also with the Bentaleb showing his talents I wouldn't mind selling Livermore to Hull or similar.
Naughton/BAE should be allowed to leave if we got replacements lined up/youngsters pushing for a place in the first team.

Couple of good news in my opinion
What's your view on this?

Other than the occasional pop at goal I can't really remember Siggy making much of a contribution this year. He can't manage to stay out on the wing, not great behind the striker and doesn't play a DM role.

Holtby has impressed occasionally, his work rate is far higher as is his ability to play in different positions. He also has far greater potential, and for me is definitely first line cover for Eriksen.

If I had to sell one it would be Siggy, Holtby only as a loan deal but we should keep him if at all possible

i don't see the point in getting rid of players mid season, especially with Europa league coming back, but siggy offers and has offered the team far more than holtby in the time he has been here.

holtby has been here a year, and aside from a screamer at Fulham, what of note has he actually done?

he is just a crowd favourite because he facks around as the joke on spurstv

Couple of goals, set up a few in Europe, acted as cover for Eriksen and the DMs, but not had much of a run.

I'd throw the same question back...what has Siggy actually done this season?

siggy hasn't done much either both players have been poor, but he was productive last season at least so we know he can do it.

with holtby he just runs around a lot and gets booked.

He's better than you give him credit for, more experience and he could easily play that role behind the striker. I thought Siggy would end up there too, but he just doesn't seem to have kicked on. Whether that's down to formations, tactics or just AVB is anyones guess

as I said before, I don't see the need to sell Holtby, loan him out at worse but we might as well keep him, we will need him and Siggy both at some stage.

I have been disappointed with Holtby though overall... I thought we were signing a much better player than we actually got.

I totally agree with you, I wouldn't want to see either go this winter, especially with our injury record. If Holtby is desperate to try and get to Brazil then its a loan with immediate recall if required.

I actually had no expectations for Holtby, he came in as a promising german U21 international. As such, I saw him as one for the future...in many ways I still do.

yeah but I remember seeing Holtby for Shalke in the CL and he looked really good.

haven't seen any of that form for spurs.

Fair enough, still goes back to tactics, formation or AVB though.

Can't help thinking nobody is sure what his best position is though...he thinks he's a DM but to me he's far better in an attacking role.
