I'd rather we sold Chadli than Siggy.. but yeah, Livermore and Naughton are not good enough
I would like to see Chadli play behind a lone striker before we get rid so glad he is staying.
Not sure if selling Capoue is wise but we have cover in that position with Dembele and Nabil. If he is sold to raise funds for a defender or striker then so be it.
Siggy is better than Holtby for me so that mean Lewis can go. It's a shame but that's football.
The modern fotoballers that want a move after a few months, do my head in. Surely they did not think they were all going to be automatic first picks straight off at Spurs when they signed? Let them do their contracts, then they can go where the feck they like.
Who gives a feck about whether Chadli wants to play for Belgium in the WC, he is part of a squad that plays for Spurs in London, my only concern, not feccccking Belgium, nobody forced him to sign, he say £££££s and it was good enough to sign on the dotted line in August.
Morning Spur,
loaning or selling ANY of our in or around the first team would be madness in my opinion. I rate Chadli and i think he is a very useful squad player, im really intruiged (sp) to see if Sherwood does us Chaldi and Lamela behind the striker as he recently said.
The only player i could see leaving is Capoue, Sherwood doesnt seem to like/rate him, maybe its an attitude problem? I do remember when Capoue signed the Toulouse president (i think) came out and said he would be a wonderful player if he dropped the attitude.
I agree Sandro's
Lamela or Chadli behind the striker would be very interesting and I like Sherwood's plans for them!
Since we sold Defoe I don't think it will be too long until we see it
Chadli's agent came out and said they were considering a loan move, but he' decided to stay I thought
Yep, that's what I quoted in the article appspur

I dont want to turn this into an avb vs sherwood thread, but i was a little gutted when avb was sacked as i generally wanted him to do well, but i do think he over-complicated things, sherwood seems to be a bit like redknapp (play players in their correct-ish posistions) and to express themselves.
If i remember correctly when we played twente in the champions league chadli scored and he played as a striker? Maybe sherwood should 'experiment' in the europa with different players/formations and tactics.
Why isn't Livermore good enough btw? Performed really well for hull and has a better goal return than dembele, sandro or Paulinho (3 I think)

I like the look of him at Hull, just don't think he's Tottenham quality. He would't be ahead of Dembele, Sandro or Paulinho anyway and we'd still get about 5-6m for him. Good business since we have Bentaleb coming through
Paulinho scored 4 goals for us in all competitions, Livermore two
All three players have shown some promise at times but have not been good enough to get a starting place each week.
The problem with buying so many players at once is that I honestly believe that AVB did not know his best 11.
Sherwood has kept mainly with the same side and and we have shown a bit of consistency however now he has a job of keeping the players no playing happy, very difficult especially with a world cup coming up.
I wouldnt worry about selling Naughton with or without a replacement lined up, he's hopeless. We would be mad to let Lewis go, Chadli will struggle to get a game especially in his more favoured central role, we are spolit for choice in there.
We need to keep Lennon and Townsend fit though to keep the natural width especially for home games when sides pack the middle
Naughton is a right back being forced to play on the left. He did ok last weekend, even had a hand in the first goal.
Chadli just wants a chance to play central as thats his natural position. He's a big unit and good in the air so he could be great cover for Ade.
Latest rumours are that we are looking at Juventus pair Mirko Vucinic and Fabio Quagliarella plus Sunderland's Steven Fletcher.
We certainly need back up strikers, not sure if these are the answer. We could also do with a quality left back, I am not a big fan of Rose at present as he tries to be too clever rather than play safe!
Steven Fletcher
Agreed Kent.. one or the other has to play or we just aren't a threat.

Not in my book... Not much in it though. Without ever having a run in the team like Siggy has, Holtby has made more of an impression on me with this passing ability and work rate. Other shooting (most of which has been off target anyway) I can't think of any noteworthy qualities of Siggy (at least none that he's shown in a spurs shirt )
PS And I agree we'd be crazy to let any of these players go permanently... Loan deals might be OK given the fact that most of these need game time to ensure World cup tickets...
