Surprised to see that the media haven't picked up on Swansea massive sudden decline over the last year. If they lose to Tottenham this weekend their record will be W8 D10 L19 for Premier League games over the course of a year, 34 points in 37 games and would've seen them relegated last season if they weren't to win the 38th game. Even now they're only 3 points away from relegation.
Compare them to West Brom who have gone through a very similar season and a half. Started last season strongly before wobbling at the end. West Brom had even finished 3 points ahead by the end.
This season they sit on the same number of points, so why does Steve Clarke deserve the sack and Laudrup doesn't? Especially considering the strength of the two squads, Laudrup has done little to deserve praise other than winning the Capital One Cup and implementing an exciting style to the team in my view.
Of course there is the argument that Europa League is having a detrimental effect but looking at the squad they should still be doing much better.
I'm just pretty surprised that this has flown under the radar especially considering Laudrup was supposed to be considered for the United, Tottenham and even Real Madrid jobs.
Thoughts?

Doesn't stop the fact that they have been in relegation form for the last season.
I'm not saying they should sack him but I'm just surprised there is no media attention on it.
I think it's because Swansea's was everyone's second favourite club last season. I just don't think Laudrup is as good a manager as people make out.

Rodgers got them promoted and didn't spend half what Laudrup spent.

Loads of injuries to key players. They're still competitive in every game they play and they will be fine when they are back.

they will be fine,
what i have seen they seem to be quite comfortable in Europe playing some good football, but its taking its toll on their league performances.
i fancy either Spurs or swans to win it, or make the semis, final, just at what expense league wise for both clubs will be the question.

I think they might both get knocked out actually.
Swansea will lose to Napoli IMO, and Spurs could easily lose to Dnipro or Benfica in the round after.
If either get through to last 8 they will have a good chance.

maybe a good thing for the swans righteous, need to get them league points.
just have a feeling with spurs it could be another scenario like Chelsea winning the cl when they wasn't given much of a chance.

Spurs are definitely one of the stronger squads in the EL.
I think Napoli will win it though. Rafa loves a win in Europe
