Sad to see Fabregas go

I am writing this article as a fan of football not as a fan of Manchester United, I cannot be alone in feeling quite sad that Fabregas has left our shores it doesn't really matter to me that his departure means that one of our rivals is now weaker than before, he is one of those players that people pay to watch and if this league continues to lose its brightest stars to La Liga the entire league will be weaker as a result,

Certain football fans may revel in teams losing stars such as Fabregas, Ronaldo, Tevez and the like, but me.. I just see our league growing weaker and weaker and thats not something to be happy about.

How Barca and Real pursue the best players in all leagues is infuriating. This may sound ridicules but what if every club add a clause in their contract to prevent them from signing to La Liga clubs. Itll protect them against barca and real. It will prevent them from offloading unwanted players to spain but Barca and Real are only after top players and rest of the La liga clubs are skint anyway.

He is a great player, but he belongs where he wants to play....I am not sad to see him leave the PL...all the better for United, (weakens the opposition don`t it?) I would gladly put in our team!!!! Wouldn't care if all the opposition star players went elsewhere... all we should desire is to win... win WIN....in SAF we trust!

We get to see these great players performing elsewhere anyoldhow, so there!

Yes I would prefer to see Faregas in the premier league, but why is it shameful for Barcleona to pay £40m for a player that Arsenal poached from them when he was 16.

It doesnt matter what Faregas did when he is 16. Cesc is an Arsenal player and the way barca went about it in this deal is utterly disgraceful

Screen,
what is it that you think is disgraceful?
If I were an Arsenal fan I would be upset that he was going, but I would understand that he has given his best for my club, but would prefer to play for the club he supported as a boy, & currently the best club side in the world. Arsenal poached him off Barcelona for nothing, Barcelona are paying £40m. It seems fair to me or even a little harsh on Barcelona

I wouldn't be too sad about it for Arsenal they have made 40 million pure profit. Fabregas gets to warm the bench for his favorite club and you can't deny anyone a chance to do that. Arsenal are worse off, but with shrewd investment it could make them all the stronger because let's be fair we haven't really had to worry about them too much for the last few years with him there.

the way barca went about this deal is disgraceful. If they want a player they should pay the fee and buy him. What if Real wanted Hernadez and everyone in Real keeps making comments on how Hernadez should be at real without paying the required fee?

Screen,
We’re probably arguing semantics. Yes I would be upset if we lost one of our better players & I don’t like how money rules the game, but the player wanted to go & both clubs agreed a price, so I don’t see it as “disgraceful”

Comparisons would be
David Beckham to Real Madrid. I wasn’t happy, but that’s life
Gerard Pique (loads of potential, but not yet the complete player). In a similar to Fabregas, we poached him from Barcelona & he wanted to go home. United understood & a “free” transfer was arranged.
Ronaldo to Real Madrid. Ronaldo’s boyhood club. Again I wasn’t happy, but that’s life. You may argue that at least we got a good price, but as a fan if I had the choice I’d rather have the player than the cash.
