The desperate WOBs are crawling from under the rocks where they live and using this transfer window as a stick to beat our greatest ever manager. Those looking for grey clouds in every silver lining want us to lose matches so Arsenal Wenger is pushed or leaves.
What bitter, deluded fools. I have faith in our players to deliver week in week out. We will never match the resources of a nation state who bankroll City and employ too notch accounts to dodge FFP. Or the bottomless pit of that thieving oligarch who bought Chelsea to stop Putin from killing him. We can't take a £30m gamble. Look at what spurs did with their 30m gamble on potential.
Plastics! Either support Arsenal or feck off and support Tottenham. They bought left right and centre. Fat lot of good it did them.
IAWT.

I find it extremely offensive and nonsensical that anybody who disagrees with or criticizes Wenger is instantly branded a plastic or a WOB. Wenger is not God ffs!

Hippo your a and b choices are simplistic. Our spending power was restricted by the stadium development. That is a fact not conjecture. Several articles have been written about it. We had to sell our best players etc.

If you have a point relevant to the thread then it stays otherwise feck off to the dark side.

but wenger always said that he could spend and never did.
so he basically lied to the fans for 5 years?
i am going on 5 years because a quick google search gave me this article from 2009 years ago http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/i-have-money-and-i-will-buy-insists-wenger
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn't say he lied. He was economical with the truth. He was hardly going to say "we're broke and can't afford to keep our best players" is he?

yes but he could have been honest and said: we built a big new stadium, now we cant spend much money on big players instead of fostering false hope
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's really going to be helpful to the existing players. He showed faith in them and by putting them down in the manner you hope wouldn't be good for moral.
