Hardly Herbert Chapman's fault.
He was around before god. I'm talking about football not a kick about with a slice of orange and a smoke at half time.
I agree in the main, but the striker situation over the last 2 or 3 windows is a head scratcher.
With no Walcott now, podolski not fit or trusted we are an injury away from having to play Bendtner Or Sanago
It's hard to accept
I'm sure if those supposed 'WOB members' were going to use a stick they'll just wait for the inevitable crumble of our season rather than put so much hope and emotion into this window hoping for the 'change' we've longly awaited.
We've been top so long because we did something different in the summer with no selling but buying a top player this time round it's the Arsenal of old when it was obvious we needed a boost we've typically haggled so any scrutiny Arsene does end up getting in the summer is fully deserved he facked up no-one other than him, can't hide behind the board anymore who used to take the blame.
The most foolish looking people of the day are the ones who kept requesting a delay in when to assess the window because 'Wenger may have a trick up his sleeve' as usual proved to be false! If our season does crumble what is the excuse this time?? We would have missed our biggest chance in 10 years because of him and that will have to eventually be admitted
Pretty sure it was still called football in the 1930s.

Tbf we've been like that all season, and Giroud has held up. I really hope Wenger goes all out for a super special striker in the summer.
City have 3 strikers. Arguerro is out for a bit. If Edin and Beast get injured they're fecked also. You don't expect all your strikers to get injured.

There won't be anyone in the summer either.
You do know it's possible to criticise Wenger without wanting him to leave, and while supporting the club.
As I said earlier, I don't think people's major gripe is not taking a £37m gamble on a 20 year-old, I think it's not addressing the shortage of players up front - something which, lest we forget, the club actually identified as a problem in the Summer as the pursuit of Suarez (and apparent pursuit of Higuain) shows. It should have been sorted then, but is even more important now with Theo's injury.
The striker situation is truly baffling
Where is the inevitability of us crumbling? Is it more a matter of hope on your part rather than expectation?

Forget about next season we've got this campaign to worry about with some mammoth games to get through!
Goodness me I hope the 'wait till summer' will not become the new excuse to get Arsene off the hook, would show more blindness than the Chelsea fans that also believe the 'happy one' does no wrong
The OP is an idiot. It's possible to criticize a manager's decisions without wanting him out. And it's possible to support your team without being fawning sheep. Guess the concept is too difficult to grasp.

Remember, "we just need Giroud to get us through 'til January"? That worked out well didn't it?
I know its hard in jan but i feel we still could have done alot better than Kallstrom. Hernanes has gone to inter for 14 mill!, mitroglu to fulham both would have been better options. I have just dusted off my championship manager 01/02 season when Kallstrom was actually rated, Spartak don't even ant him!.
The whole wait until next window is just bull with arsenal and those fans
This is how we will do business & I can't see it changing

Erm..... how about the last 7 years where we've been completely let down by a severe choke?? If it was hope on my part, I wouldn't waste my time arguing with mugs like yourself I'd just wait for the inevitable to happen in may. But no I choose to stress myself out believing the great man has changed his ways.... jokes on me guess.
I hate to be so pessimistic but what if Giroud breaks his foot on Sunday. Our season will race down hill fast. It just seems like poor management not to even get some cover.
I hope a AW knows what he is doing as for many his banked good will is drying up

I didn't say "wait til summer" I said I "really hope", which implies I have my own doubts too.
I'm as disappointed as the rest of you but it clearly looks like there was zero movement this window.
Simple fact is out of the three out and strikers we have one is injured and completely unproven, the other has been farmed out on loan to anyone who would have him for the past 3 years, so if he's not good enough to have been considered for selection over the last few years what makes him good enough to be considered now. Then there is Giroud who we are praying doesn't get injured.
Granted I wouldn't want any of the strikers we have been linked to today, but why has it taken to the last day of the window to make these offers when we knew we needed a striker almost a month ago after Walcot's injury. It just proves that poor planning has struck us again. Wenger likes to control everything at the club so ultimately he has to take the blame for it.
Thing is I have no problem listening to either side of the argument when it comes to criticising Arsene and/or the board.
Trouble is, too many pro-Wengerers are like this guy, whose main argument is little more than blind faith in the man.
Tbh, Wenger deserves way better than them.
I am a staunch Wengerite but his decision making this window is atrocious. He gave the impression we were after a striker, surely that was wat we needed after failing to get suarez and higuain.
It irks me because we were actually the team in the best situation to strengthen to push us to challenge for the title. We will never have another opportunity like this go for it
