Will the Glazers really back the club

In the summer like we desperately need ?

Ok I know I'm probably not their biggest fan and some on here defend them sternly. BUT fact is they do not have a high net spend since they took over.

With Vidic confirming he is leaving this in my view means we now need at least 5 or 6 top signings in summer.

A top left back, a class central defender, a right back as sick of Smalling and Jones played there both wasted at right back.

And we NEED two world class midfielders and a winger.

So if you total all this up we are looking at most likely way in excess of 150 million quid.

Lb = 15 - 20 million
Rb = 15 - 20 million
cb = 20 million at least more likely 30m
World class CMs = 35 million plus each.
Winger = 25 million plus.

I know sound negative here but this kind of spending we we need just don't see happening. Especially in the most vital area CM.

Let's hope I'm wrong but I can see us getting half of the players we need and making do with what we got.

God forbid Rooney does leave as well because that means more spending. Obviously we would get money for him but he'd only have year left on contract.

Ps apologies City fans can't seem to remove City tag

Bombshell here but I think we need to phase Carrick out. He's 33 this year and certainly we need a replacement at some point. As we've still not replaced Scholes we need to start looking at Carrick.

The Glazers aren't football people and their accountants will tell them there isn't a great deal of difference between finishing 4th and 1st in financial terms. Fergie had the clout to make them dig deep for the players who could ein trophys (RvP), I doubt Moyes has that influence yet so it may be 4th place Cup at best for a while.

Bozza

We've spent 64 million on 2 players in 5 months

I think it's safe to assume the Glazers have no problem sanctioning big transfers

Have people forgotten we signed a RB last season in Guillermo Varela?

I can't believe i am agreeing with the spam that is PPLF, i'd say 3 signings tops. In fact, i'd be content with two solid/spectacular midfielders and one defender alone.

I don't like to comment on other people's life choices, but how can you be a vegetarian when bacon exists?

Hence we need 2 cms vcd.

LB is also another first choice needed. The rest could be made up by promoting reserve players. Even RB we have options if we look at the reserves instead if shoe horing players into other positions

Once the clubs find out that Man Utd are in for their players they will put up the transfer fees for their players, so your estimate could be as much as £50m+ out. Another problem could be if you fail to finish in the top 4 and end up in the Europa League or don't qualify for any European comp, then will the players come.

I struggle to see how anyone with any sanity would suggest that the Glazers would want to jeopardise their investment and the value of the brand by letting their level drop.

When it gets to the end of next season if United are only 3/4 you'll probably see Moyes go as I don't think they'd be as understanding as the previous regimes were with SAF.

Not too fussed about Carrick, he is actually one of the reasons why we cannot play a pressing game.

He needs to be phased out
