Lot of talk about players coming in..

Not sure that I want an influx at present, thinking would rather see a few games under the belts of what we have. If needed we have bags of experience in the wings that at a pinch can come on and do a job. They may not be popular choices with everyone but Duff and Cort do know how to play in this division.
They are not the ideal fix but they add experience where we need it, the player formerly known as Bikey needs a kick up the rear end to get back to being a very capable defender and both the aforementioned are capable of doing this.
We have enough forwards and midfield to keep running at teams so lets take a position of wait, see and then strengthen, we get a surprise with what we have.

No, bricks, I've never crossed swords with rover95 and didn't read his stuff on Nat Lofthouse. If he dissed the great man he deserved to go.
The thing that annoyed me particularly was the fans who talked about the FA Cup run being dedicated to Nat and then clearing off in their thousands before anywhere near the end of the Wembley game and, therefore, disrespecting the man's reputation.
That was a shame, he and your club deserved far more than that.
Onts, what's the problem with claretsmad, I did wonder about giving it a try too. Miserable in what way ? Too serious ? Always whingeing ?

eddie

I too was guilty of legging it at 5-0 at Wembley.

It was just too much to bear, bad day at the office whatever.

I used it as an opportunity to get in the queue early at Wembley Central station and jump on the train to Watford where my car was parked.

I'll admit that none of our players deserved us Whites staying on until the end for applause, but not one of us booed them

I'm glad your lads didn't get booed off, I hate that and will never understand the thinking behind it.
It was a disaster, everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong but, to be honest, I would hope, in the very unlikely event of the Clarets being in that position, that our fans would stay out of sheer defiance and bloody-mindedness.

Hows things Bricks? Think I am going to give the LET a miss, they are more negative than I was a month ago seriously though, even I can see some positives. Eddie Howe is building a young side with plenty of potential, lots of teams go through transition periods and come out the other side stronger.

I'm fine Wrexham and hope you are well.

True supporters put up with these transitions and have the patience to realise that after few sacrifices, you come out stronger in the end.

We had Gary Megson do it after Allardyce and many of us Whites got on his back but not me.

Transitions do take time, so you just have to keep the faith

I find Clarets-mad to be full of posters that only respond when its someone they know. The whinging that goes on there is very depressing and they should really get a grip on reality.
We had one good year in 20 and that becomes the norm instead of the building block. A lot seem to forget that we are historically a very good 2nd Div/Championship club. We dont have a money bags on the board and we are not a pretty town.
For stability we are on the right track with how Eddie is proceeding, thats just my opinion. Get some good young players and start playing for each pother. Look for a bit of experience next to give them the edge in how to win.

Its more or less the same on all forums not just footie mad I think its just getting used to seeing the same posters names and their reactions.I feel quite comfortable on here, should I not be wanted then I wont post on here anymore.I enjoy reading others views on footie no matter what team they follow as long as its sense and not nonsense or abusive.

That to me Star makes a good board, not a case of which team is better because they are are Bolton, Burnley, Rovers or whomever. Its because we like footie and enjoy the rivalry that exists in our parts of the world. We should be grateful that we have a town team, thats what I remember from my early days of watching. You went on the match to see a game and look at certain players.

I am glad that Stanley are doing ok,it was touch and go but they seem to be allright now.I always enjoyed going to away games at Bury/Bolton/Burnley?Preston etc,its was dogs day when we lost but a short hours journey forgot Blackpool.I hope all the Lancashire clubs do well except the big 4.
