Lot of talk about players coming in..

Bikey worries me at the moment, too, onts, there seems to be a lot of headless chicken running going on with him ....we do have plenty of midfielders but only one, McCann, who is strong enough to take on the other side when we are up against it. The others seem to be a bit on the weak side. Skilful, creative and talented but lacking bite.
We're well off for forwards now and if the side gels, we should score plenty of goals but if the midfield can't provide the ammunition, we'll end up half way at best.
I'd accept that if the foundations for a very good young side are put in place for future, successful seasons.

That's a very bitter, homophobic & low blow!

Mears has broke his leg, and Eagles destroyed QPR's right hand side on Saturday. Something he couldn't do for you last season.

An assist & a left side free kick that forced an own goal.

Dont delete my comment as I will just keep writing it until the mods notice yours.

Have a good day

As was said regularly on this and other boards, Eagles will do well for Bolton against the weak sides which is where Bolton will need to pick up the points to survive.
Why he picked Bolton against a big club likely to win something, God only knows. Maybe, the big clubs, deep down, don't fancy him or maybe Eagles knew he'd walk straight into OC's side instead of having to warm the bench elsewhere. Either way, it's a shame his career is on hold, I reckon he had the potential to play for England. Seriously.
He night struggle against the decent sides but that's your problem.
Of the others, I still don't get why you got Blake in the first place and then kept him on for another season.
He was too fat and slow when with us and, at one time, was a very shrewd passer of a ball., but not now - any trainee would have more to offer.
Misplaced loyalty, I guess, but very expensive misplaced loyalty.
Mears won't last the season with you, broken leg or not.
So that's a brief and honest assessment of "all" the BFC players having joined Bolton. Hardly a roll call of all time legends, is it ?
Have a good day, yourself, bricks, you'll find YOUR board under "Bolton Wanderers". If you and your guys can't take banter on your board, please don't expect to be allowed to come on here trying to be clever.
Mind how you go.

Firstly Bricks, I do not delete return comments, if you try and make sense, add to the discussion or have some witty prose then you are welcome.
Secondly, in the case of Eagles destroying QPR for you and not for us. You have answered the fundamental question in regards him, he chose to play. Get used to it, it can be very frustrating. Eddie gave a more detailed explanation if you care to read it.
Thirdly, Mears, no comment from me in regards the unfortunate break however that just means he will be slow running out on you. He will not be a great ambassador for the club and was probably the most surly player I saw in a Claret shirt.
So you have two players with talent but march to the beat of their own drum, enjoy.

Thats the way boys keep them Trotters at bay!Pigs trotters, and Chickens sounds like Fred Karno,s butchers shop.

Morning star, hope you are well and glad that your skin is a little thicker than a trotters behind.
I suppose when one posts you should be expecting a bit of banter, in a light hearted way, back. Unfortunately our cuzzins in Horwich are either thin skinned or thick headed.

Oh when you have seen your team play in different divisions,Rovers and Burnley with more lows than highs its like water off a ducks back.Oh the days when we used to sing Bob Lords a butcher.

I dont delete return comments either or run to the admins or use the filter.

We should talk about it like grown men or women and you should admit it was an out of order and unconfounded, unsubstansiated insinuation.

Now we have that sorted in regards getting the mods, I appreciate the honesty of your comments.
Now in regards the goings on in the shower, I have it on good advice that "our Chrissie" can slip a mean crippler to his friends who happen to be of the male gender.
Now Bricks if this is near the mark for you and you feel yerself getting hot under the collar, best you not read on or contribute to this article. I dont want you feeling that your inclinations are at all in jeopardy and it can be our little secret.
I come from the days when Lancashire men went down pit, kept either ferrets or whippets and liked a good fry up. Sunday lunch was kept in local Working Mens Club silently contemplating the events of the previous day. If Clarets were away then I would go watch Rochdale, Bacup Borough or if any of the local teams were playing any other team in Claret and Blue then I would go shout them on.
Ah they were wonderful days, far simpler, perhaps you should think about your childhood spent on Burnden instead of wasting your time thinking for one moment that I would admit to be being out of order, unfounded or insinuating. Waint happen, but thanks for trying, now lets have a snappy reply.

Dead right, onts, this board is in danger of going 606's way where everything was complained about and the thing died a death, through cuts admittedly, but a lot of people were sick of the hassle by the end.
If someone cracks a joke - even if in dubious taste - be appalled or amused or indifferent but move on. There's no need to run to the mods, they read our stuff and will no doubt step in if things turn ugly.

I wont offend you lot,or complain I quite enjoy posting on here.It makes a pleasant change to talk football instead of hate(erm well theres not much love in me for the Clarets)I think the feelings are mutual with you guys.I not a big fan of Trotters either.

Fair enough.

posted on 17/8/11

Absolutely spot on there Eddie, it got ridic on the old 606, we should allow anyone to post but be prepared to get it back.
Star not a prob, dont think anyone really hates the Rovers, intense dislike ever since the Jack money and the supporters sense of entitlement. Blackburn where a great advertisement for a well run footie team not sure now given the current ownership.
That leads me to my next post.

I'm a puzzy magnet & pork for England.

Just dont think this is the place to spread rumours and innuendo. No matter whose board it is.

Save it for the News of the World.

Wait a minute; they're toast.

The admins of this site seem like decent people & give us a bit of a free reign to certain extent, but along with that comes self responsibility?

Very good, that, very good.
Oh, the irony of it all.
But you're right, bricks.

Thanks eddie, but he did accuse me of having strolled along the Bourneville Boulevard, so I had to respond accordingly

Not very snappy but youve taken it in the vein that it was given almost. Just lighten up and have some fun with it, it doesnt have to be serious all the time.
Bit of gossip about Chrissie isnt all bad, dont come back with "I'll defend trotters till I die" crap either. We are just getting to like you, kind of so have some fun.

I love a laugh Onts with fans of all clubs if they stay civil and friendly.

It's what a community based forum is about.

Friends again?

This is more like it, fellas, let's just make sure the troublemakers are kept away.

Ever bumped into that rovers95 chap eddie?

He came on our board and even offended Nat Lofthouse!

Others and myself blew him away with metaphors and he soon left. Better than responding with abuse imo.

He's not been back

posted on 17/8/11

Never knew we fell out, I want to get the Clarets back on a board, do not like Clarets-mad know they are miserable.

posted on 17/8/11

I stopped years ago with footie mad, this will build up just like our board its moving slowly but surely in a nice way.

posted on 18/8/11

No, bricks, I've never crossed swords with rover95 and didn't read his stuff on Nat Lofthouse. If he dissed the great man he deserved to go.
The thing that annoyed me particularly was the fans who talked about the FA Cup run being dedicated to Nat and then clearing off in their thousands before anywhere near the end of the Wembley game and, therefore, disrespecting the man's reputation.
That was a shame, he and your club deserved far more than that.
Onts, what's the problem with claretsmad, I did wonder about giving it a try too. Miserable in what way ? Too serious ? Always whingeing ?
