Tottenham’s defeat to Norwich on Sunday continued a worrying trend. Nine of Spurs’ last 12 Premier League losses, stretching back to November 2012, have come off the back of Europa League fixtures on the previous Thursday.
A worrying sequence as they chase a top-four finish, Tottenham, under first Andre Villas-Boas and now Tim Sherwood, appear to be proving that the biggest obstacle to qualifying for the Champions League is playing in the Europa League. Here’s those nine defeats in full:

Didn't realise it was this bad!

It's not good is it? The run of results that is..
I think a lot of it can be put down to AVB playing full strength sides in the Europa. Not sure what Tim's excuse is.

Tbh, I think we would be better of if we were playing midweek CL and then PL. The fight and desire from the players midweek carries through to the weekend, especially if the team wins or undeservedly loses despite being the worse side.
As opposed to this 'better than you' mentality are squad seems to have when playing against some unknown squad in europe.
