Pretty poor excuse, how do you expect to compete in the premier league, if you're in the champions league which is a harder league, if you can't cope in the prem while playing europa league matches?

i thought RDBD told me the other day that there was no correlation between europa league and losing the next prem game..

i have a newsflash for you fella - we are not in the faaaacking champions league, and we wont be for as long as we have europa league to deal with as well as chasing top 4. we simply don't have the nouse, bottle and squad management for it.

so its a totally waste of time argument

europa league also results in playing games on sundays after your rivals have played - the perfect time for spurs to bottle it when the pressure is on.

plus there is the excessive trips to the back of beyond in the EL not present in the CL - and often playing on terrible pitches that ask for injuries and drain the legs.



basically anyone who tries to compare the CL and the EL needs a good slap round the head, and people need to stop using the most waste of time argument ever.


the problem is that i personally don't want us to totally throw any cup competition, so unless we actually develop some bottle and learn how to manage a squad properly then we will be in the europa league year on year on year.

So let's get Van Geel, he knows how to manage a squad properly. Thanks Sherwood but goodbye.

Love the fact a Liverpool fan who finished mid table when in the Europa League is telling us about not been able to cope in the CL

Liverpool will be back to 6th/7th next season, if and when they have to cope with CL football. They simply do not have a deep enough squad.


Anyway I think Man United are going to win the CL, so Liverpool probably won`t even be in it.

Spurs are not in a position to dismiss any cup competition. Ths sort of arrogance does my head in.

We need to learn how to manage both to be honest. If we're ever going to be a regular CL team, which I have always doubted, we need to learn how to travel and still grind out results.

I think a lot of it can be put down to AVB playing full strength sides in the Europa. Not sure what Tim's excuse is.

Tbh, I think we would be better of if we were playing midweek CL and then PL. The fight and desire from the players midweek carries through to the weekend, especially if the team wins or undeservedly loses despite being the worse side.

As opposed to this 'better than you' mentality are squad seems to have when playing against some unknown squad in europe.
