Remainder of season

I think I would have more respect for Moyes if he grew a pair for the remainder of the season and actually took some risks - after all its his job that's on the line - and play players who have something about them and a bit of fire, and in some cases in their correct positions for the rest of the season. I am tired of seeing Valencia, Cleverley, Rio and players of that ilk. He might as well try stuff now, and that includes a different formation.

I would like to see Jones played at Centre Half. I would like to see either Rooney or RVP up top (I know its controversial to drop one of them but it ain't working, and that way we can play Mata/Kagawa in their proper position.

We our out of every position, and lets be realistic here, we are not in sufficiently good form to get 4th place so what on earth does Moyes have to lose?

Thoughts?

VC,

Wayne Rooney can also cover many positions (9, 10, Wing, CM) however you play your best players in their best positions. If Jones was that good at CB he would have made the position his own by now.

I'm not one to say Phil Jones is going to be the next Maldini, but that's not a fair comment to say.

How is he meant to make the position his own if he keeps getting shoved to RB and CM because as a club, we're incapable of signing players to play in those positions?!

Well how can he do that when he doesn't get played there?
From what I've seen he has played well when put at cb. In fact he was superb against city last season at cb.

Dark Phoenix,

Yes supply is key, we had £60m worth of strikers playing last night and they conjured 1 shot on target between them. Hernandez is an excellent finisher as are Rooney and RVP (Usually). We now have the players with the creative ability but not the manager to execute potential to success.

I am aware of this simple concept and agree with it.

However, with injuries and form, there will always be exceptions.

We have two of the best CB's the premier has ever seen, and Evans and Smalling.

Jones has been made to suffer because of his adaptability. He has hardly played in the CB position, so how on earth do you expect him to have been able to make it his own?

What is difficult in this for you to understand?

DP,
I agree he should play there and only there but Moyes doesn't have the balls to do what is needed. Janko, Varela and Vermijl are all promising right backs but no faith/trust/gamble from Moyes to play them instead of Smalling/Jones/Valencia at right back.

see valencia, young and cleverly as to why our strikers had 1 shot on goal

Don't feckin' remind me.

As soon as I saw the line-up yesterday I just thought "Oh, so is Rooney going to have to get the ball from the centre-half, drag it up the pitch 35 yards, somehow find van Persie so he can score."

Game plan was written right there.

Credit to Young though in my eyes, only one that actually tried to do something with it until he realised, nobody seems to be caring!

Our wingers are absolute pants. I don't rate Zaha but he must have been really awful in training for Young and Valencia to play ahead of him. Also, why pull Lingard in from loan without giving him a chance.
Atm Bebe is our only winger in form

I would prefer Rooney as the No.9 with players such as Kagawa and Mata behind him, when he plays No.10 hedrops deep and often sprays passes to Valencia to do nothing with when better options around him, happened countless times with Kagawa when he got on yesterday. Strange the team' real creativity is down to the wingers who barring Januzaj have been poor this season.
