Another Big Game at the King Power Stadium tomorrow. They are all big games from now on in.
I don't think any City fans are expecting an easy game when Chris Powell returns to Leicester with his Charlton team. They are one of only five teams to beat Leicester this season in a hard fought, if somewhat controversial, tie at the Valley. Whilst they have been struggling at the wrong end of the table for most of the season they secured an excellent win (for them and us) against London rivals QPR last Saturday and followed that up in midweek with a solid FA Cup Victory against Sheffield Wednesday.
On the plus side for Leicester, Mr Kermogant will not be coming back to haunt us again following his recent move to Bournemouth.
I expect an unchanged line-up from last Saturday's comfortable 3-0 victory over Ipswich, but a much harder game. Last week Ipswich looked like they were beaten in the dressing room before even stepping onto the pitch with Mick McCarthy's pre-match assertions that 'Leicester are the best team in the league by a mile and we will be lucky to get anything from the game' seemingly convincing his team of the fact and dictating their approach to the game. Rabbits in the headlights in the first half.
I don't expect the same from Charlton. I expect them to fight for everything and take the game to us. More like the recent Watford game than the Ipswich one.
Prediction? Another resounding win would be great but I'm going for 1-1

...which was coincidentally also the last time Ade Akinbiyi scored.

Thats right, dec 2000!! We have beaten them in the FA cup I'm sure, although I bet that would be a good 6 or 7 years ago too!!

I said a few weeks ago that it wasn't the fixtures others were worried about (eg Forest away) that concerned me, but those against teams mid-table and below. I added that if we did not lose against Watford, I would stick actual money on Charlton proving to be the banana skin.
Now, I have several painful memories of saying I would put money on some long-odds event, neglecting to do so and kicking the cat when the result came in, seeing that I would have won tens of pounds if I had put my money where my mouth was.
This places me in the unenviable position whereby I fear that if I don't go through with betting on a Charlton win, I will be jinxing us. So I'm sticking a couple of quid on a 0-1, and hoping to lose it…

BTW, I don't even have a cat, let alone kick one. When I lose money, I usually mutter at the cockatiel, who assumes I am offering him words of encouragement, runs up my shirt front and rubs the top of his head on my chin. So animal lovers should take a deep breath and relax.
