So Rafael is out injured again, one game back from injury and he's out already....
This is becoming a bit of a joke now isn't?
Same with Nani, Evans, Jones, Smalling.
What the hell is wrong with professional players, why are they such puss ies?
I can pretty much guarantee if they were not getting paid thousands a week they would be playing regular football, playing through the pain, like most of us do.
But for some reason they have been told to stay on the sidelines by some professional, or by choice and would much rather prefer to sit at home doing sweet feck all while receiving what we get in a year in a week.
P1sses me right off.
Injuries

Does the insanity work out involve repeated blows to the head? Could explain a lot.
Anyway - anyone ever played with a pro or ex pro? I have on a couple of occasions, one guy who was ex Tottenham, one a current player for Bristol City. The standard they play to is unbelievably high.

Not entirely sure what you are upset about. It is not like they set out to injure themselves

You're really trying to compare your 5-a-side football to the highest level of world football where athletes have to be at the top of their game both mentally and physically to be able to play and even the slightest drop in performance will be noticeable.
The example of a high end car or thoroughbred horse is a perfect one. The fine line between being able to perform at the highest level and not is tiny.
If you can't understand that and by the tone of your post you sound pretty simple.

It's a physiological thing too. Players who are built for speed are much more prone to injuries - notably hamstring problems- than slower players. Which is why, frustratingly, the flair players are often out while the great big lolloping donkeys are nearly always available!

Ha.
100%??
Our teams been playing at about 20% all season and we have had injuries to nearly every player in the team. Don't believe it for a second.

Anyone thinking a young player like Jones would prefer to be sat on the sidelines is soft in the head.... Football is their dream, its a world cup year too FFS.
You go on about 5 a side.... How do you feel when you have to miss a game? Not great, right?

I hate it but I don't get paid to play, I pay to play.
big difference.
pretty sure if I received 50 grand while injured I wouldn't give two shiets.

What a whinge of a post. So we've gone from posters on here that think they know better than the managers to now someone who knows more than the physios and doctors?
having said that I'm guessing this is a wind up? As no one is that daft.

It's not up to the player if he thinks he's fit enough physically or mentally. United will spend millions on the latest technology to gauge how fit a player is and whether they will be able to provide the level of fitness that is required at the top end of football.
A player may also be ready to play now but with a high risk of long term injury that would result in not being risked.
It really isn't that hard to understand. The demands both physically and mentally of modern day top athletes is huge and players need to be at the peak of their powers to perform at an acceptable level. Just look at the problems of second impact syndrome in American football, players are actually dying or ending up severely disabled because of it.

and i'm pretty sure that is why you will never, ever be a professional footballer.
SAF once talked about how ronaldo would stay for hour's extra, practising various aspects of his game. This was when he had already well and truly made it and had more money than he could ever spend.

Well, I'm too old for that now.
gave up footy when I was young to get smashed all the time!
much to my regrets.
oh well, still.
maybe I am just comparing players to myself. Not everyone is built the same, some players bodies are weak, some rarely get injured... Evra. Giggs, ronaldo for example.
I just figured that if youre getting the perfect diet, nutrients, proteins and whatever then your body will be strong and less susceptible to injury....
beckham also did the same JSPC
