I have wanted Moyes gone for a while and if he turns it around next season or whenever, you can all point to his article and say whatever you want to say.
However, today tipped me over the point and can see no way back for the man. He played Fellaini and Carrick -two immobile midfielders-against Liverpool's high energy midfield and left them outnumbered, why? Did he really think it would work? The guy is lost. I know the squad needs additions but I honestly don't see this being the man to take us on to a new era of success. do you?
Also, the system used just doesn't work his point blank refusal to sub Rooney and/or RVP is infuriating, if it isn't working change it and to not make a change until the 70th minute or whenever sums up his tactical ineptness, changes should have been made at HT or 55th minute. Then to sum it all up, he brings on Cleverley and at that point I knew all hope had gone. We never looked like creating something all game, we have no style, shape or general tactics such as closing the opposition down! Moyes, did well at Everton but out of his depth IMO at United, he should gracefully resign
Thoughts?.
Today's tactics

What midfielders did you want him to play???? I think that most of us, before the game, wanted this starting XI. Based on the good performances against Palace and WBA. We dont have better midfielders than Carick and Fellaini. What would you say if he played any of the Cleverly, Giggs, Fletcher.Would you say that Moyes is tactical genius that stopped liverpoll dynamic and energetic midfielders whit his mobile midfield of Fletcher and Giggs?

when i saw the lineup i was not happy.
Vidic, Carrick and Fellaini down the middle of the pitch along with an underperforming RVP infront of them and Mata on the wing against Liverpools midfield
If anyone was happy with that starting line up, you're all bunch of stupid b3llends

The starting line-up looks good on paper I agree but the combinations on the pitch clearly don't click and work, all you had to do was see Liverpool's system and immediately you knew we would lose, the system can be part to blame for tactics and whenever we attack it is always a one man attempt, no team play and building attacks like Southampton for example, poor management and tactics.

Good performances? They were standard ones against two poor teams, how expectations have dropped. No but dropping another player into the middle with energy, Kagawa? Drop Rooney into there to make a better link between attack and defence, I can't see why that front four is purred about so much, no cohesive attacks, all sideways and backwards passing. Squad and in particular CM is in need of an overhaul, current crop aren't good enough.

the same factors that affected Kagawa's performances are also affecting Mata. to get the best out of these players, they
1) need to be played centrally, preferably as a no10
2) need players making runs into opposition box
3) need players either side, getting into space and providing an outlet for a short pass
Unless these requirements are met, Kagawa and Mata wont be a sucsess at united. at the moment when ever we get the ball, our attacking players run in to the opposition box and stand there like statues waiting for a cross. this tactic doesnt work in modern times.
we need to completely revamp our playing style or get a new manager that knows how to use technical players. otherwise we wont get top four for a long time

Did anyone expect any different today? The job is beyond him and has been since day 1. Yes the squad needed work but 2 windows and £65m later he is still to address the LB and CM problem. The club should thank him for his efforts, negotiate a pay off and get a top manager in the Summer if we cant get them now. Giggs as caretaker couldnt do any worse until the seasons end.

What makes me frustrated is that this was our strongest team. Most of us thought that before the game as it can be seen in the link above. I’m not defending Moyes, IMO the same starting line up under SAF would have scored first and won this game.
Just saying that it’s easy to be a general after the battle.

Yep, I was delighted with the starting eleven.

I'd have been happier if we'd played 3 in the middle. Maybe Carrick and cleverly behind fellaini, with Rooney mata and kagawa.

I'm afraid its the second option for me now - I would suffer a few seasons of no trophies if we established a quick tempo, creative style of play. We actually do have a handful of top-quality players but Moyes seems incapable of utilising them to their bets ability - that tells a story imo
