Keep him or get rid?
Personally since he has been in charge I keep changing my mind whether I would want him to be manager next season.
After the game yesterday it has convinced me that we should keep him. The players were clearly behind him after his scathing attack on the squad and personally think despite the result the team put in a very good performance.
I thought we were going to get smashed by 3-4 goals.
Everyone knows Tim lacks experience so he is always going to be making mistakes but he would of learnt alot these last couple of weeks when we have had bad results and next season he will be a better manager for it.
He knows the players inside out from youth through to the first team and he will know what improvements will need to be made for next season.
He is passionate but honest in his interviews and I really like how he conducts himself on the side lines. He clearly has fire in his belly but doesnt go over the top like mourinho.
It is refreshing to have a young english coach in charge and my worry is that we get in a foreign coach who then brings in his ideas, new players and then a massive cull and its the same old season again.
The bravest choice is to stick with Sherwood afterall do we really need to keep changing all the time just because its not going for us.
I say give the guy a chance, make one or two changes player wise in the summer, our "magnificent 7" will hopefully be better, even lamela might start the season off flying!

Firstly Sherwood was a very good player in his day, maybe not the best for spurs but the guy was captain when Blackburn won the prem.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sammy Lee won league winning medals with pool was he a good player? Emlyn Hughes was theri captain and won loads, was he a good player?
Tim Sherwood as a player for THFC was worse than average, he dwelt on the ball in midfield and got caught in possesion more times than I can care to name and he played like he thought he was something special and trust me for THFC he was distinctly average.
The substitutions in yesterday's game I don't think were bad, maybe he took too long in putting soldado on but we were dominating and I think he was concerned if he put another striker on we would then lose the midfield battle.
Not bad? Putting Siggy on was a pure and total waste of time. Yes we may have lost the midfield battle but the way he did the subs we lost the game instead, a good manager knows when to gamble and when to push things do you honestly think SAF would have waited until the last 8 minutes to try and have a positive effect on the game? No chance
He took Sandro off as he was on a booking and very close to getting another. He took Chadli off as I think he was running out of gas. Sandro is almost permanently on a booking going by your reasoning he would be taken off after 30 minutes of every game . Chadli went off the boil totally after a good first half and a good tactical move would have been to drag him out wide and play Eriksen in the centre, probably why Sherwood never done that or even realised it was possible. In fact we should have lined up like that if I am honest with those two players assuming their normal positions instead of both being played out of position.
The subs and performance was decent just the scoreline wasn't.
No the performance was an improvement only in as much as the team showed a bit of bottle for a change. Are you forgetting that during the 1st 30 minutes we should have been 3-0 down? That our high line was torn to pieces time and time again and that we were actually extremely fortunate to only be one goal down.
If that fails to convince then cast your mind back to our actual reasonable goalscoring chances, it should not take long.
woolwich scored and then sat in their own half for the majority of the game and we were still totally ineffective and unlikely to score. Hardly a good performance at home in my eyes.
The only reason most fans are relatively pleased with out performance is because we showed a bit of passion and never lost 3/4 nil like a lot were expecting.
That hardly constitutes a good performance and all you have to look at is how Tims subsitutions effected the game. Its simple they did not effect the game at all barring the fact that we were a little less effective once the double sub was made.
1-0 down dominating possession under virtually no threat but our "manager" cannot make a substitution that might actually effect the outcome of the game until 8 minutes to go. Yet another reason why I have no time for Sherwood

Sammy lee and emlyn Hughes were before my time I'm 32 but I bet you can't tell me a poor captain who has won the prem!
Tim made the subs to make an impact but it didn't happen. You don't rate Tim but then you compare him to saf who was possibly the greatest manager of all time.
I understand some of your points and I did say in my original article that Tim has made mistakes but I'm sure he will admit that as well.
My concern is getting a new man in and then it all being a massive change again and we are back to square one and this has been going on too long.
It's easier just to write off the manager and I'm not sure with whoever we get you would be happy.

I dont consider Tim a manager and he does not even have the badges to prove it does he? If we were sacking an established experienced manager I might think differently but we are sacking a novice how performs like a novice so its hardly going to be a major hiccup is it?

You would be dead right if the team put in some of the performances they have this season, city home and away, pool at home, norwich away, damn the list is endless.
BTW was David Batty not captain the year Leeds won the premiership in its first year? If he was you have your crap prem winning team captain

No sorry Leeds won the last year of the old 1st division the year before the prem started

No problem and its only a game if you are a casual fan for a real supporter its a bit more than that.
Thats probably why I have put myself out to learn a bit about the game while you, well we have already seen what you think
BTW if you are having an early night I would suggest a good book. Try one on football and hopefully you might be able to make a sensible comment tomorrow
