I really don't get all this pessimism regarding Rangers' chances against Dundee Utd in the Scottish cup.
For all that Rangers performances have been patchy to say the least this season, we remain unbeaten in the league.
Would the current Utd side - or any other SPFL side outwith Celtic - seriously be capable of that if they were in our shoes?
Could they go through the guts of a season in league one, as we have, without losing a game?
I don't think so.
This Utd team are bang average. Rangers have the players, who if they raise their game from the standard that's required to beat league one sides, will swat them aside.
The bravado from Utd fans is funny
They forget one thing....

If i was to bet on the game i'd back United but Rangers will be more fired up and more than likely in the first 5 to 10 minutes let the likes of Gauld, Cifti and GMS know they are in a game.
Dundee United can only beat themselves imo but that's what we've done twice this season

I think untied will win but its far from a foregone conclusion
stats say that celtic should win the treble every year, but we don't.

None that I can think of.
Poor manager, and coaching staff.
A fat, 30 something immobile striker.
A 35 year old makeshift centre back who is only in the team because he's pals with the manager.
Our best midfielder injured, and most creative player injured.
Ricky Foster.

I dont think it'll be a cake walk for Dundee United but I remember hearing stuff about how fired up Rangers would be to play them last year for the first time since their demotion, the fans boycott etc and on the day they were done up 3-0 in their biggest game of the season.
A few thing have changed since then, there are better players and I suspect that playing against a team who are more likely to have a go might make for a more open game however McCoist does love his punts up to Jon Daly and playing players out of position.
I suspect this might be the difference as long balls up to a target man are meat and drink for SPL defenders like Gunning.
On paper Rangers might just have the edge but McCoist in my opinion is Rangers biggest weakness. He plays players out of position and I dont think he even has a Plan B. Against Albion Rovers at Ibrox when Plan A didnt work he stood there with his arms folded and but for a debatable call by the referee we might not be talking about a Rangers Scottish Cup Semi Final tie.
With a better manager I would have made Rangers favourites.
As it is I think it'll be close perhaps slightly in favour of the Arabs

Game could go any way, it's a cup semi final and Rangers on their day are quite capable of winning.
