I am quite surprised not much has been said here about the fact that Sagna, a player who we can comfortably call Mr. Consistency, a player who is widely regarded as one of the best RBs in world football in the past 4yrs, a player despite multiple serious injuries keeps coming back better than ever, got offered a paltry 75k a week while Ramsey, a player who had received almost as much stick as Giroud last seaon (rightly deserved it), a player who has only been good the first half of this season (I really didn't rate him prior to the leg break), gets 85k a week.
The fact that the club decided that Sagna deserves to be paid less Ramsey is utterly baffling (along with giving Theo 100k while Sagna is on 65k . I think the club, by offering to pay Sagna less than what far less consistent players like Theo and Ramsey are currently receiving, only shows that in this club there is no reward for consistency or dedication.
If Sagna leaves due to this dastardly action by the club (and I really hope he gets great wages wherever he ends up) then I would expect us to have serious problems filling his boots because, as we all know, Jenko isn't ready and in todays football, we will have to pay top wages to replace him with quality. And I kinda doubt the club will do that.
Sagna

^^^ what the 7-9m isnt much as thats what Roma are prepared to pay & most likely in installments too

I'd imagine Newcastle dismissed that out of hand!
The figures rumoured to be in the bracket to tempt Newcastle to sell the over-zealous Frenchman are around double of those figures (you've mentioned).

We get linked to top players/prospects all the time.
The question is how many do we eventually sign???

We've been linked with Callum Chambers of Southampton recently. I like the very little I've seen of him but if true it probably means the end of Jenkinson

Jenks NEEDS a season of 1st-team action to gauge IF he's at a level required for Arsenal (top class). I rate his athleticism, his attitude and he's quite a good tackler. Positionally he needs a lot of work (imo) and mentally I'm sceptical on the lad. He has a real propensity to lose the plot/go to pieces if or when he makes a mistake, that's a REAL weakness and something he'll need to shake off if he wants to be top-drawer!
There have been rumours this week that Jenkinson will be loaned to Newcastle next season. In my moist, humble opinion, if he's a 1st-teamer there for a season, potentially that could do him the world of good. But IF Sagna leaves, you'd imagine a replacement would be found and Jenks would be 'back-up' to the new rightback? I don't think Jenkinson is ready to be 1st choice at Arsenal, not at this stage of his career anyway...

^^^ no-ones gonna pay that tho, also I think Roma coach garcia managed at Lille & look how he has gotten the best outta Gervinho

The fullback position at Arsenal is SO important. Look at how many attacking moves start from the fullback positions, it's quite something.
IF Sagna does fly the nest and seek pastures new I don't think a 'prospect' coming in to replace the Bacman will suffice! It'd need to be a player of proven class.

That's a really decent point (about Garcia), but PSG are one of the clubs linked with the hatchet-merchant (Debuchy), so in that respect, 5 million quid isn't goin' to scare the Parisiens off, it's one less ivory-back-scratcher for the Chairman.

15 million, NOT 5! <OK>

He's a good shout.
Very versatile, which is an asset in itself. The only thing is, I'd imagine he'd expect to be a 1st-teamer if he were to leave Germany? And at Arsenal, Mertesacker & Koscielny have got the 1st-team centreback positions nailed-down and wrapped like a Mummy!

No one knows what Sagna has been offered.
What does not need to be debated is that Ramsey, one of our most important players with a decade of football ahead of him, should be earning less than Sagna, a right back past his peak with not many years left in him.
