Can we sign thorne as a replacement for eustace for a cheap fee such as 500k, would be a huge coup for so little...

Rob,
Sorry, I like the sentiment but I think you go too far based on one 90 minute performance.
We're 10 points behind Burnley, and with a much inferior goal-
difference. We'd have needed to pick up an extra 11 point over the last couple of weeks for us to be 2nd... where would they possibly have come from?

Exactly what i was thinking Wideboy... Robrea was advocating playing Thorne & Eustace holding and Bryson supporting Martin - this isn't even how we played yesterday anyway... I see the logic that we MIGHT have gone that way at Burnley, but the other dropped points 0-1 millwall 0-0 bolton 0-0 reading i don't see how playing Thorne & Eustace holding would have helped solve the lack of goals.

Wideboy, beat Burnley millwall and one of reading and Bolton and you're there. I don't think we were really going to make it automatic in all honesty anyway. I just hope yesterday spurs us on to another few good results that will ensure a solid run in and good place in terms of confidence for the play offs

It's all ifs buts and maybes isn't it... Burnley are clearly the 2nd best team over the course of the season and will fully deserve their promotion. The good thing for us is that we can blow anyone a way on our day so the play offs should hold nothing to fear.

Yes but we didn't and what you're suggesting is based on 20/20 hindsight.
A big dilemma for SMcL now. Does he play a West Brom player or a Derby player? A no brainer really I think. George Thorne and try to get him to stay if we can get promoted.

I don't recall ever saying play thorne and Eustace together, my concern was not playing a holding player and playing bryson Hughes and hendick in the same team.we certainly looked more solid yesterday and the fullbacks got more forward with the holding player sitting in, I don't think we looked so loose with Hughes not playing. Pity martin does not have another yard of pace because his hold up play and vision are prem quality ,having said that Berbatov never had pace and he cost millions! Martin has so much quality had he got pace he would not be a Ram.we have to hold on to bryson , martin , Hendrick ,Dawkins, and Bennett if we fail to go up and cash in on hughes if possible in my opinion.that would give sm funds to buy in.

F me , we lost today but having watched the other teams around us we have no one to fear , we lost at Leicester in a similar way to throwing away three points today and two against Brum .I said before today we needed to bring in Thorne with Eustace and play Bryson in front of them with Russell and Dawkins wide and Martin up top . I think SM is great and so much more tactically aware than what we had but he is brave to keep playing Hughes especially in games like today , Brum and Leicester !
The cavalier style has been refreshing and so much more exciting and taken us within a whisper of the big lights , but now he needs to take stock, bring in Thorne squeeze it up and bore the f in pants off us all and get to the prem and we have the players to do it and the right manager to carry it out but you know sometimes in management you can get blinkered . Steve have a few days off look at the tapes and put it right.
Forget all the talk about next f in year this IS our year we are up there now we will bounce back next week . Burnley have a tough run in and QPR looked shat today , Leicester will blow up , Reading could not beat 8 men , Forest have problems Wigan look most likely. SO COME ON NO MORE NEXT YEAR TALK WE ARE GOING UP !

F me I can't remember what I said three days ago let alone three weeks and three weeks is a long time in football , but my bottom line is keep thorne in and hughes out and we have a better chance of going up ,!!,!in my opinion.

Thought Thorne was brilliant, physically much bigger/stonger than I thought he would be.
Calm throughout, his clearance led to the Hendrick goal, and set up the Bamford penalty with great vision.
SJW,not a sending off as was going away from goal ,we were right in front of it.
If he plays as well at Ipswich,Eustace may not get back in
