Did I hear the commentator say that Messi has scored 26 hat-tricks since 2007?

I dunno but generally I don't debate hypotheticals. I hope he does come to England at some point in his career just so i can get the chance to watch him in the flesh!

I don't think he can, sure he would still score 25-30 goals but I don't think he'd score 40-50 like he does in La Liga.

You say you prefer Ronaldo because he has done it England but then admit Messi would probably get 25+ goals a season which Ronaldo only managed to do once

The "Ronaldo has done it in England" argument is just a horrible cop out. Does anyone who claims that to be a factor really believe it actually matters? Would you like jom to run around naked on a cold November night in Stoke too?

Ronaldo dominated the PL and was even top scorer once, in the process setting the joint 3rd highest PL goals in a season tally. Just 3 behind Andy Cole's and Alan Shearer's best. You can't argue with only being 3 behind Andy Cole's best. Next you will be saying Messi is better than Andy Cole. Grow up.

33 games: 17 goals and 14 assists
08/09
31 games: 22 goals and 15 assists
09/10
33 games: 35 goals and 17 assists
10/11
26 games (13 in PL & Eredivisie): 11 goals and 12 assists
11/12
31 games: 11 goals and 6 assists
12/13
33 games: 23goals and 11 assists
13/14 so far
25 games: 28 goals and 20 assists (according to Transfermarkt. I don’t think that’s right though…maybe they count penalties won as assists)
Anyway the point is to say he hasnt been scoring for a long period of time when being compared to Ronaldo & Messi is a bit off the mark. Im not saying he's as good as those two but he's not that far off imo.
If you also factor in all the games he missed through suspension, albeit its all his own doing. Suarez isnt that far off.

Adaptability is a key skill imo. Can he handle the physical aspect and the more defensive game of many of the teams? I don't think he can, sure he would still score 25-30 goals but I don't think he'd score 40-50 like he does in La Liga.

The whole idea of Messi finding it more difficult to score against thes like of Hull City than against the top PL teams (who've consistently set up über-defensively for many years when playing Barça) is frankly quite ridiculous.

Worse defenders are generally better than better defenders though. In the PL, the league is completely different to La Liga, the best teams are at the bottom, and the team that finishes bottom, goes onto the championship.
