One thing I picked up on BR saying in a recent press conference was he would be looking to bring in 'the right players' rather than just throw money at big names.
This is exactly how we should conduct our business this summer IMO. We have such a fantastic opportunity here to cement a top 4 place in the future, so we need proven quality in necessary areas. For this, we need to look into players that would slot in immediately & propel us to 'the next level'
I would look at signing:
Luke Shaw - Southampton
I know we would be looking at around £20 Million here, but you have to consider just how many top class Left Backs are both around & available. Shaw would add such class down our left hand side, and offers so much that we could benefit from; surging runs, accurate passes & a wicked cross. Only concern would be Chelsea/United coming in with a big bid and massive wages.
Alternatives: Fabio Coentrao (Real Madrid), Montoya (Barcelona)
Toni Kroos - Bayern Munich
Recent rumors & press conferences have really started this one up as a distinct possibility. He is just total class, and if we had a shot at signing him, we should go all out to secure him. I have written an article recently on him and would be ecstatic if we could get him in. Price could be a sticking point, it depends how much we have to spend.
Alternatives: Axel Witsel (Zenit), Ivan Rakitic (Sevilla)
Ezequial Lavezzi - PSG
A fantastic winger who would offer pace, power & a tremendous goal threat. He has played at the highest level for both Napoli & PSG and would be a tremendous signing for us.
Alternatives: Nico Gaitan (Benfica), Xherdan Shaquiri (Bayern Munich)
Obviously this is highly unrealistic, it would be an outlay of around £100 million. CB may also need some reviewing, but I feel our defensive issues have been down to injuries & suspensions, leading to an unsettled back 4 for most of the season.
Would love to know if anyone else would like to see any of the above players come in, or any alternatives if not
Summer Signings

The signings I'd make are as follows:
Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana - I'd splash over £30m for these two. I think Lallana is a class talent and would make a massive difference for us in midfield. Shaw would certainly solve our left back problems too and I think he'll be a top quality player in a few years - he's bordering on that now.
I'd also sign a striker and a defensive midfielder but god knows who!

Now before someones gets aggy, i think hes a good player and should start for england, but we can get better for a noninflated price.
I do wonder what BR could do with Morrison though..

You can't go wrong with Lallana, quality player. I also like Schneiderlin and Chambers from Southampton.
Papadopolus is another I would look at along with Konoplyanka and Mkhitaryan.

Nah Ilori I really think Lallana is going to be a brilliant player. Had my eye on him since I was at Southampton - Birmingham in the League Cup years ago when he scored a beauty!

Lallana looks koala tea, but his injury record would worry me.
Up until recently he got a lot of injuries.
Whoever signs him might find they spend £20m and then he goes back injury prone again.
Or he might do a Le Tiss and be a Saints only legend.
