Left back will definitely be one, and possibly at least another central defender if not two. We may need to start looking for a Gerrard replacement too. Won't play every game next season with CL football (if we qualify) so will need extra depth there too.

Ffs we arent spending 20mil on a left back.

LB, DM, AM or winger.

Think we will buy a 4 or 5 players though

fsg have maintained they dont worry about the fee if its the right player so hopefullly we see this happen in the summer.

We should go all out for the top talents we can compete with mosy clubs in terms of wages and we offer a player regular games and a chance to win trophies if ee maintain our current level, hopefully the style of football halps too, maybe a good attacker will look at us and think they may excel in our side.

We could spend £20m on a left back if it's the right one for the long term.

I doubt Shaw will be available to us, but you never know.

Got to feel Southampton might be in for quite a long summer.

Not only were Shaw is concerned neither.

Whatever happens this summer, as long as we get the deal over the line quickly rather than dallying then we get pipped at the post by some other Premier League side.

Although so far, I'm rather glad we lost out on Dempsey to Spurs and Willian, Salah to Chelsea.

id love to see us bring witsel in, but think its too ambitious even with us looking like we will getting an automatic spot in the group stages

I'd love us to go for Lallana. Looks a terrific little player

This!

I feel Salah m y be a decent player needs time to settle, but willian he'll no, can't believe they paid so much money for him, typical Chelsea player, loads of running but with no real end product.

As for Dempsey.....

id take rodriguez from southampton in a heartbeat

We definitely dodged a bullet with Dempsey.

For all the talk of us failing to meet valuations and losing out on players as a result, I don't think the clubs valuations have been far wrong really.

Overpaying for players is no way to run a business, and we have proved we can improve on the pitch and still maintain a business plan.

I wouldn't anticipate much of a change in transfer policy if we make the CL. We made a loss last year and the owners will be looking for more bargain buys to enlarge the squad plus further develop the young players coming through.

I have been a critic of this method but it's paying off at the moment.

The signings I'd make are as follows:

Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana - I'd splash over £30m for these two. I think Lallana is a class talent and would make a massive difference for us in midfield. Shaw would certainly solve our left back problems too and I think he'll be a top quality player in a few years - he's bordering on that now.

I'd also sign a striker and a defensive midfielder but god knows who!

Lallana hype gone overboarddddddddddddddd

Now before someones gets aggy, i think hes a good player and should start for england, but we can get better for a noninflated price.

I do wonder what BR could do with Morrison though..

You can't go wrong with Lallana, quality player. I also like Schneiderlin and Chambers from Southampton.

Papadopolus is another I would look at along with Konoplyanka and Mkhitaryan.
