Not long got back from Leicester & before the match I said this is the one game every player on the pitch for us has to battle at there best. & they delivered in fine style our defence looked solid Nyatanga was immense & I haven’t been his biggest fan I have to say. Wilson stayed strong with confidence from nowhere. Adomah well what can I say he played his usual best and then some. Skuuuuuuse brilliant stronger than a British Army Battle Tank with clinical tackling. Gerks done us proud & looks like he never lost his first place. Maynard had the most to prove tonight with everything on his head nearly got his hatrick but the crossbar got dented by a power shot from the pen. Cisse took a long range strike from out of nowhere with power never seen before. Camble Ryce the little big man nothing fazed him as he climbed stretched reached battled & tricked tactfully around the field like a Jack Russell on speed lol. All in all if we play like that week in week out we will be hard to beat this season. Consistency is the key word here. Only criticism I can say is if Maynard was partnered upfront with another striker we would of hit double figures.
BEST TEAM BEST GAME SO FAR.

I feel Skuse performs much better in a "bunched midfield" as it tends to cover his weaknesses. His best performances for us were usually in these type of formations. That said, i still think he is a weak link in the side but, as I have said many time on the old 606 "the team works" it aint about indivduals its about teamwork and team ethic and sometimes, the better players dont make the best team players.
Good win, but lets hope they do not get carried away and continue with this type of worlds against us mentality.

Well said Red Side. I still think Skuse isn't a bad player he is still young and yes does play best in a busy midfield. I hope we can build confidence now & get 2 wins on the bounce on Sat & that should put us in for a great performance against Swindon on Wed...

Good points there Red Side
I still think Reid and Cisse with Kilkenny for the mid, with Elliott from the bench.

The problem as far as I have seen with Skuse is yes he works in a 5 man midfield but can we play that way at home and hope to win if teams come here to hit us on the counter with a 4-5-1 formation themselves I can't see us winning too many games.
I keep thinking Skuse at the back like Orr would he be a better option in the long run than Ribs, who I think willl be better suited to CB playing if only from a fitness point of view, He seems to get injured from too many sprints something he wouldn't do as often at CB.
However with Spence here I can't see Skuse getting much game time at RB and although he can play CB I remember another City fan at one match who said to me if Skuse is the answer at CB it must have been a damn stupid question.

I think Scuse is the answer to left back - in the changing room. He may have had a steady game at Leicester, but there are 44 more to go, and he is inconsistent and erratic to say the least.
Still think Cisse and Kilk, with Reid deserving of a chance

I still believe Cisse should be in for Skuse but like some, i think Skuse is actually a better right back then centre midfielder. He isnt young anymore Mikee, he is 25 years old, he just looks like a teenager.
I havent seen Reid so cannot comment on his performances but for me, we have to use Marv and Cisse protecting the back four at all times. I know what HM means but its better to nick a game at home or even a point than get overran and battered!
We have limitations and, until addressed, we need to play to our strengths.

Agreed Scuse is better right back, but Spence and Edwards are far better than him. I think the bell is tolling for Scuse now, and he may be better off down the leagues and starting again. Not that it will happen because underneath the top 5 or 6 players, we are infested with mediocrity that we cant get rid of. Some time in the past, somebody somewhere has been too nice to the players.
I think we may be looking at a tragedy regarding Mr Ribiero unless he gets a run of fitness.
Its a terrible shame (for him obviously) and also for the club, because he looked a Premiership player in the making. I pray that he gets a break with injuries, and gets match fit so he can build up his game.
Speaking as someone who stood in disbelief when Cheesley went down in a crumpled heap against Stoke, I have to say
Why does it always happen to us ?

Thinking back BRR it does seem to always be players here how many recent loan players have we had get injured in their first few games and thats not counting at least 2 who haven't managed to complete a half of a match before being struck by serious injuries.

I i think Ribs injuries are a shame. He certainly has some talent. I GJ took some stick at the time, but its now clear he was aware of Ribs talent and wrapped him, perhaps too much, in cotton wool. Everyone was whining for him to get a a chance and Keef gave him a chance but in hindsight maybe he should have waited just that bit longer.
Injuries happen at all clubs, its just that this club doesn't produce that many younger talents so it seems excessively cruel when one is damaged to the extent its career ending.
But you never know, he may pull through yet.

Ribbs played on tuesday night at the failand training ground against exeter and came away with no injuries thank god. So he looks like its just his fitness levels to be worked on before he comes bk into the side. Just hope he doesnt turn out to be another Steve Brooker a great player but prone to reaccuring injurys..
