Summer Transfers - Realistic

No players from Champions League clubs.

Since buying Veron in 2001 we have only signed 7 players who had played in the Champions League the previous season:
2014 - Mata
2012 - Van Persie, Kagawa
2007 - Anderson, Hargreaves
2006 - Evra, Park

So we do not have a track record of going out and paying a premium for the highest performing players in Europe.

With that in mind can we stop with the articles saying how great Moyes will do with Reus/Pogba/Vidal/Koke/Gundogan/Kroos next year and discuss realistic players from the Premier League/Europa League

For me:
LB - Shaw
CB - Benatia
CM - Schneiderlin, Banega, De Guzman
WGR - Bruma, Iturbe, Cuadrado

Nah he probably sees you as a young Jamie Carragher: desperate last ditch defending.

as well as Fellaini not stepping up as we would have liked.

I think the relatively poor form of our wingers could be attributed to the eventual phasing out of Paul Scholes.

Valencia's greatest asset is pace and scholes with his long range passing could pick out Valencia by launching it from within our half. Then it was a one on one between Valencia and the opposition full back and he would win on many occasions. His crossing was always average at best...and now he can't pull his usual one trick because he doesn't get released that early.

Utopian, I do agree with that but there's also more to it. Valencia, though I've never really been a fan, had a better than average cross.

The issue is the strikers and the amount of men we've been getting in the box. RVP doesn't suit him.

With Welbeck and Hernandez as the furthest strikers forward and Rooney making late runs from deep, it was easier for Valencia to pick out his man because he knew where they'd be, and the strikers generally knew where to attack the ball.

RVP is a completely different type of striker and he doesn't attack the ball so Valencia is left standing there confused and just lofts it in to a box with less players in it and nobody attacking the ball.

RVP's lack of pace is also an issue because Valencia needs strikers that can keep up with him so he can get it in early. How often do you see him stop because RVP can't keep up with him and Rooney was having a cig on the half way line?

I'm no fan but these are big factors in his decline, as well as Scholes, as you say, and his obvious lack of confidence.

We need to get rid because what he was good at he's just not able to do anymore and just offers nothing.

Agree with the change in strikers too. RVP is more of a ball at his feet kind of striker which doesn't suit Valencia.

I think Valencia will probably stay as he can do the job which Park used to do for us (especially in the big games) - something I can definitely see Moyes doing. He could also be a back up RB if we chose not to recruit one.

Yeah but Park was never this bad and could actually move into different parts of the field.

Moyes is a mug if he doesn't get rid of Valencia. He's our worst player in the first team squad. He's even worse than Ashley bloody Young.

I think you guys will get Reus and sell Young or Valencia.

Evra out for Baines or Shaw, you must regret not getting Baines this summer after the season he has had.

Vidic and Rio are out so one new CB but your not linked with anyone. I would say from the rest of the league Lovren is the best CB outside Chelsea and City.

I read somewhere Valencia is the fastest footballer in the world over 100m, maybe thats why he keeps getting picked.

I think he just may not suit your style more a Chelsea type player, but he has no end product so is fecking useless.

I am not a fan of Valencia either. I would rather he be sold. But I can see Moyes keeping him..
