I understand why Manchester United would keep Chris Woods since David de Gea has been the only shining beacon in our poor season. What I don't understand is why Phil Neville has not been relieved of his duties. I read somewhere that he is our first team coach. I would like to know what Phil Neville actually does and why we decided to keep him, when you consider we already have a few ex players in coaching positions at Old Trafford.

There are lots of things you don't know, going by your comments here.

Bloody hell John, that is one of my old ones. I usual use it on the Arsenal fans.

Vidicschin to be honest I was expecting you to call me a 'bed wetting cretin'. I guess I shall spare you for now!

VC you made me chuckle on this thread too, to be fair, with the "shorts to school" line.

Nothing to be proud of in my view not sacking Moyes sooner. Decision should have been made months ago and we would probably have pushed for top 4.

I think it was the obvious and correct time for him to go. He'd been given a good chance but had performed pporly against expectations, only a naive optimist would think we could win the league season but 7th and the playing style should not be happening. Anyway, he was sacked when our season is effectively over but with some time to show the fans that work is taking place to correct things.
On the large scale, i think it was criminal of Ferguson to leave the squad in such poor shape e.g. Giving Pogba away just before retiring pretty much. I also think it was a disaster that there was no succession plan in place for him leaving, which was always going to happen. The blame starts there, for me. He needs to be asked to retire from all roles at the club and his name needs to be taken down from the North Stand, no new manager is going to be up for it if they have to bow down to our previous manager before the start of each home game.

A poor squad of champions that had won the league by 11 points. There were a few weaknesses but not of the scale Moyes has convinced you into believing.

Agree with this, what annoyed me was that they did not properly vet candidates. If they did, Moyes name would never have made the shortlist.

I'm sorry but this last bit is nonsense. The name of a stand or his image or likeness anywhere should not intimidate any manager. If it does, they are not up to the task. Sorry.
