Surely he's getting scattered with moyes?
Anyway i'd imagine the new manager would see to that.
I ask exactly the same question. When I see Phil Neville at the dug-out (looking like an apprentice kid) I donesnt fill me with confidence that we have a coaching team capable of outwitting the likes of Jose Mourinho!
Earl - Reports indicate that only Lumsden and Round have been sacked alongside their mate Moyes
I thought the same, I imagine if it was any other club, he probably would have walked (theres an argument he should have anyway, to be honest).
It's going to be a difficult few weeks for him, considering his closeness to moyes and the players now probably feeling free to air their grievances. I imagine he is still very close to a lot of people at United though.
Because he is an ex player
Because Giggsy needs someone beside him on the bench. Relatively untainted from Moyes reign as well given he is a novice.
Yeah agreed. However, I cannot comprehend how keeping someone who only started coaching less than a year ago and was part of the problem will benefit us. We already have Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes coaching the under 19s. Shouldn't we just promote them in the meantime?
The whole thing is a circus. Can't believe how quickly things unraveled.
I think we'll be hearing lots of stories over coming weeks.
It does seem a shoddy way to sack somebody but it was still the correct decision to sack him.
Ryan Giggs has known this was coming for some time I reckon.
Stretford_Ender85 (U10955) - very true. I read somewhere that the Glazers had already made decision since our first leg defeat to Olympiakos. I don't know how Niles Crane can have the audacity to sack David Moyes. He too was to blame for the nonsense that happened during the summer.
because P Nev was the first team coach. The other coaches such as Butt Scholes etc. are busy working at different levels.
Stretty - I agree with you on the stories to come.
How about this one? I hear Moyes once gave the defenders clips of Phil Jagielka and asked them to watch amd learn how he would like them to defend.
I am hoping the likes of Rio and Vidic were not around that day.

As far as I'm aware, that was made up by Evil Kagawa.
The Jagielka story was ran by Red Issue. I think it is BS.
As poor as Moyes has been I don't think a single coach in all divisions of englsih football would hand someone a dvd and say 'do what he does'. There is no coaching in that.
Sky sources claimed that David Moyes thought that after the Everton game he believed that he would be given more time (at least next transfer window) and that he was only aware his job was under threat via social media. The club should be ashamed of themselves. They can't even sack a manager properly.
Your no better than us and Chelsea now lads, Paying silly wages and sacking managers after giving them no time in a disgraceful manner.

We've sacked 1 manager in over a quarter of a century.
I think we're FAR from a "sacking club" just yet.
Moyes had to go and it sounds like more for personal reasons than just footballing ones. Sounds like it was chaos behind the scenes at the club this season and the stories are now beginning to leak.

Lets say your new manager struggles to adapt to the PL and your new signings don't gel and you miss out CL again losing yet more revenue, You think the Glazers wont pull the trigger again? All they care about is money!
I actually hadn't expected Moyes to be sacked until yesterday, when United's refusal to comment on the rumours made it fairly obvious. I had the feeling United were going to be stubborn on standing by Moyes.
For a start, I might be the only United fan who doesn't rate De Gea (although I did back him through his first 2 seasons he has shown no real improvement in the areas where he isn't up to scratch) so whatever Chris Woods has done, I don't think it has been good enough.
I agree that it is ridiculous that we are forming a back room team that has no experience of coaching players. We need to get top quality coaches in, not squish top players into coaching roles (not that Phil Neville was ever a world beater).
United have had 10 managers since the war (2 of which retired)
Chelsea have had 31 managers in the same period
City have had 37
You had two of the best managers ever though in Busby and Ferguson. In between those two, your rate of managers was higher than most (not us though, granted!)
busby retired in 68
fergie started in 1987
in those 19 years we had McGuiness, O,Farrell. Doc Sexton, Big Ron
5 in 19 yers
still think that is probably one of the best records in British football for that period.

Different era now mate, money rules the roost. The Glazers need debts paid and they will panic and make rash decisions to get it, Had the start of Fergies reign at United started in 2013 he would have got the chop as well.
Welcome to modern football you guys have had it good with Sir Alex but things will change
Pelligrini won't be City manager at the start of 2015/16 season. You could almost put your wages on it.
