Alex Ferguson was once asked by Britain’s cycling supremo Dave Brailsford what is “your secret to constant success and longevity?"
“Get rid of the cts," was Ferguson’s reply.
On ‘Off the Ball’ tonight, John Giles says Moyes was too deferential to both Ferguson and the senior players at United. And he insisted that the next manager should get rid of the Class of 92 lads.
I think anyone coming into the situation at United, what they should do is… Giggs, Butt, Scholes, Neville, have to go. Get them out of the way.
Ferguson had a saying himself, get rid of the ‘C’s… and that’s what he did. Now some of the people, including himself, are behaving like some of the ‘C’s’ themselves…

Theyll keep referring to Fergie get them out

The class of 92 have just started coaching. United is a job you should earn from being a top coach, not a top player.
Welbeck won't learn much from Giggs telling him how great his mates used to be.
Sack the lot.

i actually agree they should go, but only because there are far better coaches out there.
this is no time for nostalgia.

Something that has stood United in good stead for many years is continuity and unity; which is why it was a mistake to get rid of Phelan and Meulensteen. United have always been a tight knit family with everyone valued right down to the Tea Lady, this needs to continue which is why it would be ridiculous for the class of 92 to be ripped from the club!

even if there are better coaches around??

Dunc, there were better coaches in the world than Phelan but the recipe worked pretty well. It's partly about ability, partly about relationships and commitment.
It would be ideal if we could get the balance right: a healthy contribution from the most talented of those figures, preserving the ethos of the club, but avoiding the creation of a powerful clique that can undermine the manager.

Having them at the club doesn't mean they have to take the top coach positions. Fergie made appointments that were appropriate; keeping the likes of Phelan, McClair, Scholes at the club to progress as was fit.

thats true but they all had experience alongside them to work with.
as it stands i dont think any of our coaches have any real coaching experience.

Yes of course they all had experience alongside which is what is needed now. The current regime is just for the next couple of weeks, then the future set up will come into consideration and that is the time to think about the role of the class of 92.
If we were to keep Giggs as manager I'd hope he'd invite Meulensteen and Phelan back, have Scholes on board in some capacity and possibly Phil Neville.
If a new man such as LVG or Anchelotti comes in then they should have some top coaches to appoint, however I'd still suggest that keeping the likes of Giggs, scholes and Neville around in some capacity would be ideal.

Did pot of brown smelly stuff stirrer Giles say like anything like this pre the sacking ( afterall he's not short of an opinion ), of just stirring the pot now that Moyes has gone?
