Am I the only United fan on this forum that is genuinely concerned that we may struggle to get top 4 next season?
I know the general consensus is that with some new players and proven manager things will improve, but is it realistic to expect that improvement to happen fast?
Often a new signing will take a few months (if not the first season) to really 'bed in' and gel with his new team, well... we could quite conceivably have 4 or 5 new players and if they take even 4-6 months to really bed in, top 4 could be a challenge.
Then we have the new manager!
Will his style and vision be something that takes the players a while to translate into performances, will some of them react badly (like this season) will there be dressing room unrest and falling out (LvG has form here!)
I am always hopeful, but I am also concerned.

Us United supporters need to realise 2 things.
1) SaF was a genius who put United a few levels above where our spending should have had us.
2) the PL is the strongest league in the world where at this moment in time, 5 very good teams (including United with our investment this summer) will be going for 4 cl places.
And when I say strongest league in the world, I don't mean the best top teams. More than there are as many as 5 very good teams good enough to finish in the top 4.
Next season a very good team will finish 5th and that won't mean they are a failure.

I agree with both of these points.
I do get the impression that some people think a top quality manager will come in and have us right back to the kind of level SAF had us at, but it is extremely unlikely in my opinion.
I guess what worries me most about all this is what will happen to the next boss if we do end up 5th!

Seeing some were asking for Moyes to be sacked after five games, finishing fifth means he is dead in the water.
Unless, of course, he is a top european manager with a great CV?
Some one like Brendan Rodgers for example, oh wait a minute

funnyoldgame,
The good news for Utd. is that Arsenal could fall apart, especially if they fail to win the F.A. Cup Final.
The bad news for Utd. is that Everton will probably be stronger next season. Spurs. remain a question mark.

" Everton will probably be stronger next season. "
their best players are loan signings
they'd have to keep them and sign better

United won't be down for long
under FFP they're allowed to spend double what everyone else does..forever.
even if there are false starts or c&ckups, it's just a matter of time
under the new rules United are guaranteed success.

Really,
After this seasons performances and results you still think you are guaranteed success?
Only hard work and, a decent manager brings success, you of all people should know this, utd have spent close to 100 mill this season and have been beat home and away by half the teams in the league!

I'm enjoying their blip Redmen7, but under FFP it's only a matter of time before they're back up at the top
It's a rigged game
