It will depend on the players we get in the summer
very concerned, that's why we must get the right man in, and concentrate on areas in need of immediate upgrading, and not fannny about chasing superstars for positions not required.
You won't get it next year. You are now the northern Spurs....
Take away the five games we lost at home by only one goal and it could happen...even with this squad...hold on... maybe not

Whereas you lot just waste a top 4 spot each year.
But here we are talking a huge 15 points!!!!
How many of Utds players would get a start in the teams that you're competing against? Very few tbh.

And our Home form needs to be massively improved with this current away form obviously.
Depends who's manager and who we sign, if we sign a CB, lb, CM, and a winger, all top class, with LVG as manager I'd be confident of a title challenge, for example say we signed Reus, Hummels, Kroos and Coentrao we could quite conceivably win the league, we probably won't but I'm speculating

You won't be in Europe. According to some, it's a breeze to get top 4 without Europe. You'll be fine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It will certainly be helpful for a new manager to have a full weeks training every week to concentrate on getting the team set up right for the weekend game, rather than getting 1 or 2 training sessions at the most.
I've got a feeling at least 4 teams that aren't United will break 80 points next season.
Do that and you're in with a shout

that is why we have to get the right manager, some1 with convictions and experience in what he wants and how to do it.
LVG for all his flaws is that man.
I was thinking about this as well. I am really worried we will not make champions league next year. In all accounts, that will be a travesty of the highest magnitude. Can you imagine Madrid, Bayern and Barcelona not in the champions league for two consecutive seasons? No disrespect to any other team in the prem, but Manchester United is in with those boys, and we need to spend big this summer and hope LVG brings the magic touch. However with potentially 3-5 players, it is not easy settling in at Old Trafford.
I think next season will be another struggle to be honest. A lot of changes need to be made to the squad and that will take time hopefully we can squeeze into the top 4 and then build from there. Us winning the title next season is highly unlikely in my opinion.
I'm just glad this season's over tbh. I'll worry about next season when it starts.
For some reason it really grinds my gears when people start articles with 'Am I the only...'
The good thing is that come the start of next season, we won't have a 16 point gap to make up on the 4th place team.
OP
I already did an article on this 2-3 days back. Integration of new signings (especially in a World cup year), new manager and other teams improving will make things difficult.
Plus if we get someone like Van Gaal who is a disciplinarian, the players may undermine him if the results do not come.
However with potentially 3-5 players, it is not easy settling in at Old Trafford.

good point
Only man city do not have any big challenges nxt season.
Are Liverpool going to crumble under the pressure of new expectation, Arsenal are fortunate that there is so much disarray at utd & spurs atm. Chelsea will also be rebuilding over the summer. So I really dont see any1 bar city being uncatchable with the right manager in charge.
Only handicap is the pre-season will be hampered by WC 2014
There'll be a hell of a hangover from this season. You could see it in the last two games where we played really attacking football when The effect of Giggs taking over really boosted the team and fans. Once that had worn off we went back to crossing the ball and not bothering that they were just heading the crosses away, th Moyes style.
There'll be a hell of a hangover from this season.

Not wit a manager like LVG who has a very particular way of playing and communicates this clearly. I have no doubt we will clearly see LVG stamp on utd very early on, we have seen this with everton under martinez, pochetino, rodgers and guardiola.
It might take a while to perfect like with rodgers last season but my hope is that will be just enough to see us in the top4.
