Rio departs..

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/27386066

That's according to the BBC. Guardian, Times and now the Mail are reporting it too. United have decided not to offer him a new contract.

I think we should keep hold of Evra and make him back-up for our new LB. I've got a feeling we'll regret letting all three of Vidic, Rio and Evra leave, experience is vital. Top man Rio, best defender I've seen in the SAF era. The Nesta of Peckham.

Moyes is at the LMA tonight and he's told Steve Bates he's still bitterly disappointed at being sacked

Pullis has won the MOTY, yes?

It's a shame the way things have ended for Rio, Vida and probably Evra and Giggsy as well. Even an FA Cup final would have been a nice goodbye.

The last twelve months have truly singled the end of an incredible era. Not just manager and player departures but how the club is run a more modern way of doing things.

feck me we are going to have to replace half the team this summer. Anybody knows you cant do that and expect immediate success no matter who you bring in.

Looks like we will be watching City and chelsea slug it out for a while to come yet

Rio will go down as one of the finest players to grace English football.
I think it's disgraceful of Man Utd to not have allowed the fans to give him a proper and fitting send off.
